32nd day of 2012. Mr Fry, aka Wiggles, has to have a pillow of some sort to rest his head on otherwise he just wont be comfy.

Only one day left here in the heat then we make our way to the cold with a predicted low on arrival of -10 C! Thats a loss of more than 40 C!

Anyway, while the wife was checking with a friend for airport collection, (we have 3 cars meeting us) we were informed that it is now law that the dogs must be restrained when traveling in a car. We have no harnesses and had no idea we needed them! Good job they mentioned it.

Busy, busy, busy. Must get on! :)

One of my external hard drives (I need more than one nowadays) the "G-Drive" is great and is loaded with loads and loads of my photos!

Here is my desk setup. You'll notice the "dump Bush" bumper sticker in the background.

the frame is a slightly modified IKEA MIKAEL computer table with the keyboard tray lowered to fit stacked items and allow for ventilation.

If you haven't backed up your computer in the last 30 days, go do it. If you haven't backed up your external hard drives in the last 30, go do that too. I have 5 external hard drives, and I've backed up 4 of them. Guess what? The one without a backup crashed. Fortunately, it was a bunch of stuff from my second grade classroom, and I shared it all with a friend. So I guess I really did have a backup. Yay.

Year 3, Day 260

March 19-John 2:17: "His disciples remembered that it was written, "Zeal for your house will consume me."

Forms of memory today.. computer hard drive, memory, external hard drives, memory cards, card reader, video tapes, and a memory book..

and zeal.. for the amount of photos I take, I want to take, for my habit/hobby... my zeal for my daughter, my zeal for the artistic.

But do I spend enough time remembering zeal for my faith? or the blessings God has given me...?

i'm cool and i like cutting my hair extentions to put in braids. yeah.

February 13th 2013: One of the most important things we take for granted are our digital data storage devices. Ironically we have all experienced 'data loss' in some form somewhere. Whether at work or school we depend on these little storage devices, like our lives depend on them. Consider having a back up of a back up? I do that with my images. I have images dating back to 2004 and earlier. I am definitely guilty of that. But I have managed to keep my storage devices in good shape over the course of many years by following some simple rules. Formatting, getting rid of really HUGE files or putting large files on a separate external. Just keeping things simple and organized goes a long way. Save yourself the trouble, invest in good storage devices. I read a lot of reviews from people who spend their hard earned money on these items before investing my own. Do you have a way to keep your storage devices in tip top shape? Share it with everyone, through a link or a post. Cheers! :)

This is just a quick couple shots of my premodding ideas for my ps3 slim. I want to add the 4 port usb hub, logitech wireless racing wheel adapter, 15in1 memory card reader, & an external hard drive. Right now I've just rigged one up for testing .

These items are essential to getting through my workdays. I could not live without my aveda lotion or my burts bees which I apply several times a day. I use those three books the most for reference or inspiration and I'd be screwed without my external backup drive. My snow and graham calendar makes me happy with its simplistic design and pictures of my family and friends reminds me of what is truly important. Oh and the apples keep me from eating crap food...for the most part

The cables in the back need some TLC, but this here be my new desk setup. Ohyeah.

01/16/09 – Day 16 of 365

Best start to the morning: Venti Peppermint Mocha, Eddie Vedder's "Into the Wild!"

My favorite electronic gear: my external hard drive with cool turtle sticker; goes everywhere with me!!

I was taking this picture to show my Moo Stickers when I realized all the geeky stuff surrounding them.

Day 8 / 365 - 8/1/10

A Timely Reminder

I figured I'd just do something sort of ad-like, sort of art-like since well, let's face it, I wanted the focus on the USB instead of the external drive. In any case, I figure I need to remind myself as much as anyone else to back up the photos! I haven't been unfortunate enough to have a HD of photos crash (yet) but my mom has. So I backup in at least 2 different places (currently working on having 3 good backups for just in case).

Me, computers, technology, social media, photography & video has become like a marriage in a sense. Here is a photo that i named Computer Family to represent my love for the gadgets.. Computers & External Hard drives... lol And the Blackberry Phone for the on the go moments....

*HP dv5z Laptop

*Granite Desktop (Whoever thought this was a good idea is RETARDED, granite is a HORRIBLE surface to write on. It constantly snags my pencil and breaks the lead.)

*Acer X193w Monitor

*Other Periphials

- Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2.0

- Creative Inspire T3100 2.1 Speakers (They sound great, but I will never buy creative again. The plug broke off the left speaker, so I had to strip the wires and I have it taped to the input on the subwoofer... it's hillbilly rigged.)

- Tripplite USB Powered Laptop Cooling Pad

- Altec Lansing inMotion iM5 portable iPod Speakers (I just use it as an iPod dock)

- Cannon MP210 Printer/ Scanner

- FD 500GB Ext. HDD

- Cable to hook up my P.O.S. phone (Samsung Blackjack II, don't get me wrong I LOVE Samsung, but i HATE Windows Mobile)

- Saitek Eclipse I keyboard (Backlit Blue)

Before I took over in here, this room housed my brother's computers and recording gear.

The wall of various guitars and 4 and 5 string bass guitars still hangs.

Soon it will hold my B&W dark room and eventual new computer and scanner. Hopefully some new photo gear as well. I had my eye on a Leica MP with a 35mm f1.4 for a while ...

Wiped and reloaded my cranky MacBook Pro this weekend. G-drives are simply the best external harddrives out there. Firewire 800 FTW!

spent the weekend organising and re-rendering all the source clips of an old video project ("walking with angels", a 4 hour video extravaganza a few friends and i were commissioned to do for london's exclusive "sketch" restaurant/bar). including intermediate clips, the whole thing has been taking up over 150GB on my main PC - so backing up to DVD-Rs would have been a tad impractical. i'm now seriously thinking about getting a dual-layer bluray drive, once they come down in price a notch or two...but in the meantime, doing a double backup onto two separate USB drives seems like a sensible enough plan. still, i'm hesitant to remove the files from my main machine...i'd hate for the project files to accidentally disappear forever...

This is my handy and trusty buddy!!! This is where all the actions were saved and stored! If this crash or get lost, I am totally screwed because I DO NOT HAVE a back-up!!! I know, it's such an intelligent idea (insert sarcasm).

Welcoming the newest member to my digital family. I shall name her Zooey and cherish her like the pretty thing she is

Just the right amount of cute in the manual. Love the timer at the bottom.
