The feelings rise
From the depth of myself,
When I gently gaze
In love
Without trying..
Without doing..
They come up like flowers,
Blossom with expression,
Let go
And give the fruit
To the wind
Of eternity..
And all is peaceful,
Always was
And always will be..
There's only Love.
Peace and Love.

Tyler played some music for the open mic, some great tunes... He's just passing through Calgary on his way across Canada, originally from Inuvik, way up north... www.facebook.com/pages/Tyler-Maps/632733003408266
A monthly event of mainly poetry, with some music mixed in... Didn't feel like "working" it with my SLR gear, just took a few camera phone photos (Galaxy S3), it struggles in low light like this...

The design of the Expression evokes a wonderful combination of modern meets retro, retaining the stamp of quality synonomous with the brand. With curved ash-effect wooden edges that encase a metal grill both front and back, the radio with carry handle is completely portable and incorporates stereo speakers for high quality sound.
The Expression is eco-friendly too, with a built-in battery charger and up to 100 hours of battery life.
Nemon is a very statuesque and eccentric person - very nice and lots of fun to be around. Many of the events where I took some of my best goth portraits took place at his house.
I felt it high time that I begin to post some pics from the series of gothic portraits I did in 2000. It began as an assignment for Photography II - the teacher wanted us to do a series of something. Then I recalled an event where there were swarms of fascinating people who referred to themselves as "gothic". I truly admired their individuality and thought that it would make for an interesting series, so I began going to gothic events and asking some of them if I could photograph them. Subsequently, I began to interview them to find out more about them. I found that for the most part, they were very sweet, friendly and artistic, and more than eager to pose for me. They turned out to be such wonderful models, and the photos were very striking! In fact of all the work I had presented to my teacher, he singled out this series and said "that is what you should be doing". He and my fellow students felt the photos were very powerful. He ended up giving me one of the three spots in his student photography show. Thirteen of my pieces were on display. I had many more, but they had to be edited down due to lack of space. I truly enjoyed going to these events, and found I had a bit of a wild streak in me. I loved the music and the setting...I miss it, and am planning on picking up this series once again. I felt it fitting that this series be called "The Individuals".

I've always been fascinated by how quickly facial expressions change and the complexity of the emotions we can convey using the muscles in our faces. It is the language actors use to tell a story and the thing that photographers try to capture in a split second.
