I was trying to get a shot of Ashley coming up out of the water with lots of drops in the frame.

... what both of us forgot about was that as Ashley sprang up from the water, the dress was HEAVY and didn't spring up quite a fast as she did.

The expression caught here is one of my favorites, and I really like the shot as it turned out, accidental though it is.

after doing the compulsory decompression stop the diver can now safely surface. i enjoy taking photos of these moments for the variety of expressions one can get. these images represent the happy moments although there are times when the conditions are really bad, the sea is choppy with strong currents, that there are the occasional nausea and vomiting. i recall one unforgettable moment when one of the diver vomited his dentures off which eventually sank to the bottom forever gone. poor guy he was so disappointed with the incident that everyone tried to perk him up by joking that one day we'll see a sea turtle wearing his dentures and won't that be funny. anyway, he continued the rest of the dives without this dentures and according to him that experience was so uncomfortable

Found an old crusty lens filter in my desk drawer the other day, so I decided to try it out. By no stretch are these my better shots, but interesting nonetheless.

"Finch with Snow Beak" by Patti Deters. A small House Finch (Haemorhous mexicanus) songbird with a reddish hue perches on a snow-dusted evergreen branch. Soft morning light filters through, highlighting the delicate details of the bird's feathers and the arborvitae's foliage. There is a bit of snow on his beak, and though he is looking at the camera, his expression seems to be one of surprise or concern - perhaps because the snow is colder than expected? 😊Thank you for viewing this image. Amidst dozens of tags on Canadian Pacific rail tanker cars was this particular piece that stood out for it's artistic merit. Not sure I understand the artist's message, but I like the quality of the artistry beyond the usual graphic tags seen on the rail cars.

Holi, The Festival of Colors presents a wonderful opportunity for art teachers to use bright colors in their art lessons. Colored powders can be created to create powder paintings (similar to sand paintings). Paintings can be created to illustrate the history of the Indian holiday.

The Festival of Colours, (also called Holaka, Phagwa, Dhulheti, Dhulandi or Dhulendi) is a popular Hindu spring festival observed around the world. Holi is a time when humans and nature shake off the gloom of winter and rejoice in the colors of spring. The holiday is primarily observed in India, Nepal, and countries with large Hindu populations such as Suriname, Guyana, Fiji, Mauritius and Trinidad. In West Bengal of India and Bangladesh, it is known as Dolyatra (Doljatra) or Boshonto Utsav. The annual festival is celebrated on the day of the full moon in the Hindu month of Phalguna. That month is March in the anglo calendar. In 2009 Holi was celebrated on March 11. In 2010 it will be celebrated February 28. The most important day, Holi, is celebrated by Hindus throwing colored powder and colored water at each other. The Holika Dahan (or Chhoti Holi) is celebrated by lighting bonfires.

Nikon F80 + Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 + Fuji Superia 800.

A fabulous day and a chance to try something a little different photographically...

Basically I put the Nikon on the table (sturdy tables make great tripods!), aimed the focus on the top of the bun, closed down the aperture and waited for those hands to start moving. I think the Superia 800 came into its own here...

Plusieurs personnes m'ont demandé de voir le devant de la sculpture de la photo précédente. Voici la tête de l'ange.

Many asked to see the front of the sculpture from the previous photo. Here is the head of the angel.
