This mini series includes four images made with three different instant films/cameras. Here, Polaroid 600 B&W and Polaroid OneStep 600 "clamshell."
Epson Scan. I really like the tones of this film. The focus could be tighter, but it's Polaroid, eh.
Water levels in the Columbia and Willamette Rivers at Kelly Point rise and fall based on precipitation/runoff, ocean tides and I suppose management of upstream dams. The fluctuating water levels as well as wakes from vessels frequently wash the roots and bases of trunks of trees. The beach is made primarily of sand and clay, as the soil is washed away the roots are exposed in many fantastic ways as the trees adapt and cling to terra firma.
I put a panoramic13x36 mask in an Argus Cintar toy 35mm camera, and somehow ended up double-exposing most of a roll. So, this is a combo of shots from Tucson, October 2021 and Weaverville, Feb 2022.
Almost at the beginning of the Akerselva river you can find the Brekkefossen waterfall.

I wasn't going to post this shot as I wasn't happy with the lighting. But I really do dig the shapes exposed by the low water in the creek. I tried my best to capture it in the light we had, it was just soooo bright the whole week. Kris

Taken in the Rainforests of Dominica, Virgin Islands, on my way to visit the Emerald Falls. It is so shady,wet and dark in most areas it is hard to get a well exposed shot...Didn't have good luck with the Falls, much too rocky. It was impossible to set up my tripod even though my daughter obediently carried it!
A seldom seen sight down at Clifton Springs because of the extremely low tide. Until 1915, there was a lively mineral spa scene happening at Clifton Springs with bathhouses & a mineral water bottling plant. You can still walk along the beach & hear & see the rather amazing sight of fresh water bubbling up through the sand & shallow waters along the beach. Nisi Filters 10 stop & 3 stop Soft Grad.

Another trip to the East Coast last weekend and again to Spurn Point to capture the groynes with knowledge of what tide heights are needed, this was one of the last I took after spending around 10-11 hours on this little oasis. As the tide went out the ripples in the sand and pools of water looked like a good foreground I thought!
I realised when I took this shot that I had posted a similar image in the past. Now I prefer not to repeat myself but looking back it was over four years ago. So a second shot does not seem excessive
The chalk cliffs at Flamborough did look rather lovely in the bright Autumn light

Caught this active rain as the sun was going down. It happened so fast I felt lucky to be close to this old windmill tower for perspective.
Ahoy me hearties. Although it's been almost a week since my last post, that feels like a pretty quick turnaround compared to recent times. Hope to get back to being more regular about this place shortly. Thanks for all your support and faves and comments and general loveliness.
To me this shot conjures the sense of crossing a not quite safe space. Head down, walk quickly without panic or drawing too much attention to oneself and then seek the solace and anonymity and proteciton of the shadows.
