A collegue of mine collected some spores of Lycopodium sp. (ground pines).

They once were used as a flash light, today pyrotechnicians use them for explosions.

 

We used a very small amount to make a small (very, very small) explosion .

You can see the spores trickle into the flame and how the blaze inflame the dust.

Like a giant rice crispy, this form of bread whose name literally means 'explosion', is deep fried and then cut up in to pieces. A bit oily for me but tasty stuff.

Esta flor de una pequeña mimosa, en la que no hay pétalos, me recuerda una explosión de fuegos artificiales en el cielo, con un color amarillo excepcional. Como es muy pequeña está muy cerca del suelo, lo que acentúa el color oscuro de las hojas del fondo contra el suelo. Es un claro aviso de que ya llega la primavera.

Tomada con NIkon D700, Tamron 28-75 y anillos de extensión, con trípode. A pesar del ISO 1600 el ruido es moderado.

A mi modesto entender es una de las mejores fotografías macro que he tomado.
