A series of two explosion pictures.
I'm still experimenting with this camera. I really haven't found my groove with the thing. The explosions are too fast to really show me things that I find interesting. Which I kind of suspected might be the case.
When I try and go much faster than this rate the loss of resolution is more than I like. Individual frames from the above movies are more interesting than the movie as a whole.
I will have to keep experimenting to see what the best subject are at this sorts of frame rates or slower.
Cheers.

Grænavatn is an explosion crater--probably over 6000 years old--created by a volcanic eruption. It is some 150 feet deep, with dazzling green water due to thermal algae and crystals which absorb the sun. Unfortunately the green wasn't visible due to the lack of sun when I visited.

My 1st BACON EXPLOSION. It wasn't as pretty as the ones I saw here, 67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showthread.php?t=325570
Nevertheless it still tasted pretty good. I got a little carried away with my sausage. I used 3 lbs when I should have stayed with 2 lbs. I learned from my mistakes and so if there is a next time I will know what to improve on. I used three cheese, year old cheddar, extra sharp cheddar, and smoked Gouda. I cooked up 4 slices of bacon and broke it up and along with the cheese rolled it up in the sausage.
I used mild and hot sausage. I seasoned the sausage with some cilantro, Sweet Mesquite seasoning a little cinnamon and some Kentucky Bourbon. I sprinkled some brown sugar & smoked paprika and a little home made barbq sauce on the bacon before I put the sausage on top of it. After I rolled her all up, I slathered it all over with my homemade bourbon and molasses BarBQ sauce. Then I smoked it a little more than 4 hours. Now I didn't say she would be pretty, but she sure was good. I will work on making her pretty next time, lol.

An NEC NC2500S after a lamp explosion. It was running an Ushio 6KW lamp. And it took out the entire reflector. I show this picture to anyone who says they don't need to wear eye protection when changing a lamp.

More food coloring and water, this time I reversed the colors and inverted the picture, to get what looks like one big and many small explosions
Dene Quarry stopped working last year. They blew up one of the remaining buildings a couple of weeks ago. Just over a week ago there was a tremendous explosion and I rushed outside to see the dust pluming where they'd blown up the stone crushing tower. Frustrating, as I'd been out photographing the quarry only an hour before and missed the actual demolition.
shooting air rifle pellets at a bottle and using pure timing to capture the explosion.....
edited on CS3 slightly..
a well timed photo..
Just one of the HUGE explosions to be seen (and felt) during the ground assault demonstration at Miramar, 2006
