So for my birthday yesterday, my boyfriend got me a book full of photographs of abandoned buildings. So naturally, we had to go out today and try to find some.
Three ticks later, we were successful.

The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce sponsored the 1st Annual MNPS Career Exploration Fair held at the Convention Center on November 6, 2009. More than 3000 high school freshmen attended to talk to local business professionals about career options.

NASA's Mars Exploration Rover Spirit used its navigation camera to record this scene on the day the rover arrived at the crest area of "Husband Hill" inside Gusev Crater. That was Spirit's 581st martian day, or sol, on Aug. 21, 2005. The rover had just completed its longest one-sol drive in months, 44.8 meters or 47 feet, before taking this picture. A wind-sculpted ripple of sand or dust dominates the foreground, on top of the hill, while a whirlwind lofts a column of dust above the plain in the distance.

Curated by Andy McGivern, the seventy objects comprising “Explorations in Wood” are a small sample of the work held in the collection of Philadelphia’s Center for Art in Wood, gathered over a forty-year period. The works stem from a love of wood and display a variety of wood types. Processes are varied, too, including wood-turned vessels as well as more sculptural forms. The exhibition is proof that The Center for Art in Wood encourages an international roster of artists to not only explore the many facets of wood; the Center also continues to challenge artists to discover the inherent and dynamic possibilities of the medium.
