The name "chrysanthemum" is derived from the Greek words chrysos (gold) and anthemon (flower)
Chrysanthemums, sometimes called mums or chrysanths, are flowering plants of the genus Chrysanthemum in the family Asteraceae.
They are native to Asia and northeastern Europe. Most species originate from East Asia and the centre of diversity is in China.
Chrysanthemums were first cultivated in China as a flowering herb as far back as the 15th century BC.
The flower was brought to the Western World in the 17th century.There are about 40 valid species and countless horticultural varieties and cultivars.
For many years, chrysanthemum signifies praise and admiration.
A chrysanthemum is considered as a noble flower of the Chinese noble class.
The Japanese hold this flower as the symbol of the sun.

I really enjoy going into the woods, off the beaten track, to find beautiful landscapes to photograph.
Marina City, affectionately known as "the corn cob", is a mixed-use residential-commercial building complex in Chicago, Illinois, United States, North America, designed by architect Bertrand Goldberg. The multi-building complex opened between 1963 and 1967 and occupies almost an entire city block on State Street on the north bank of the Chicago River on the Near North Side, directly across from the Loop. Portions of the complex were designated a Chicago Landmark in 2016.
The complex consists of two 587-foot (179 m), 65-story apartment towers, opened in 1963, which include physical plant penthouses. It also includes a 10-story office building (now a hotel) opened in 1964, and a saddle-shaped auditorium building originally used as a cinema. The four buildings, access driveways, and a small plaza that originally included an ice rink are built on a raised platform next to the Chicago River. Beneath the platform, at river level, is a small marina for pleasure craft, giving the structures their name.

While along the roadside around the El Capitan Shuttle - Stop in Yosemite National Park with a view looking north-northwest and upward to El Capitan. My thinking in composing this image was to capture the full grandeur of the peak and ridges around that part of the national park. I also wanted to ensure that the North American shape was present in what I captured. It was only later that I came to realize that there were people coming down the cliff-face. Given this is a wider angle view, one would have to zoom in to about 400% to catch the little people figures or their equipment coming down.
I dusted off my Forest - Elf and pulled her out of the inventory and sent her on her travels in Fellowship Falls.... In her luggage she had her bow & arrow, her spirit animal the wolf, her friend the dragon and some other animals...
