Day 333 [11-28-2016]

Steel wool experiments. After a long and stressful day at work, George and I got together to test out more steel wool photography. Right off the bat we were getting some amazing results. We tried our first set at some abandoned military bunkers and then moved on to the local skate park where Scott met us. We were out shooting these for hours but we decided to cut it once we lost feeling in our toes and hands after being out in the cold for hours. These photos are incredible and so much fun to make. Now the task is to find a way to make it more interesting. I have a few ideas.

I can't wait to see what the next day brings!

Day 175 - 8 June 2012

I seem to have accumulated more than required in my time here in Durban.

This poses a problem for my suitcase...

I had all my clothes packed, deciding exactly where I will put the stack of books when I heard a rumble. I wasn't quite sure where it was coming from, perhaps outside but then I saw the unmistakable quiverings of my suitcase. Instintively I knew what was coming. And there was nothing else to do but hide.

With a loud snap my suitcase exploded open and to my surprise a clone came out with it.

I'm sure I don't remember packing any clones, so I figure this gal doesn't want to stay in Durban...

I was out hunting a storm in a area between Bendigo and Bridgewater in Central Victoria when I saw the most beautiful sunset break across this paddock, I sat there for a while just taking it in, it was stunning.

The fields had recently been cropped and the light on the dry fields contrasting with the sun breaking though the storm clouds was quite spectacular.

Very little work has been done in Photoshop, I touch of sharpening and tweak of the curves.

Exploding Head Syndrome is a hardcore punk band from Oslo, Norway. The band hit the rehearsal space for the first time in the summer of 2010, and about a year later released their first recordings; a 7-tracks self-titled EP, which was well received by the norwegian press.

EHS describe their sound as “angry punk” and their lyrics deal with the stress and frustration of todays society. The band is highly influenced by american punk and british hardcore. Exploding Head Syndrome is renowned for their energetic live shows and in the last couple of years the band has toured Norway and has shared stage with bands like Satyricon, Oslo Ess and Blood Command.

On 9. October 2013 the band released their first full-length album Disciples of Reason on their own label Exploding Records. On the record they co-operated with producer Kenneth Ishak (Heyerdahl/Beezwax). The reception of the album has been great, and it has been hailed as the norwegian album of year by some critics.

Got a flat on the Steel Horse. Fixed it with a glueless patch. Waited ten minutes. Inflated the tire, which then exploded at eight bar.

So first thing I'm going to say right off - Mom don't kill me. I checked and it didn't harm your oven at all, so no worries.

So I was making chicken parmesean and well, it was my most eventful cooking experience ever! I've had food taste bad after I thought my idea would be good, or I've had water boil over (who hasn't?), but I've never had this!

So when I lived at home, I have put the oven on broil before, and put pyrex dishes in for very short periods of time and on a very low rack (since heat is from the top). Well, I wasn't using a pyrex dish but a cheapo one I bought, it wasn't even in there for about 7 minutes, Ethan and I were talking and we just heard a shatter. Looking in the oven, the baking dish COMPLETELY shattered. Yes yes, maybe I should've used my pizza pan or something, but it was dirty and so the baking dish was quickest thing on hand.

So lesson learned: 1) do not buy cheapo glass dishes 2) I guess never put glass on broil setting for low amounts of time regardless of glass

I'm surprised this never happened to me when living at home, because sometimes I left a dish in for about 15 minutes and this still never happened to me @_@

Oh, we still ate the chicken - no glass pieces in it XD

Supersampler + Fuji Reala 100.

Taken with my lovely, if somewhat idiosyncratic Supersampler - 4 lenses take 4 shots onto 1 negative over 2 seconds. Completely plastic, no control whatsoever and no viewfinder - you just wave it about and hope for the best - these days, I've even learned to point it at things and keep it still! ;)
