Professor Golan Levin and (TA) Claire Hentschker presented an exhibition of student projects from “Experimental Capture”, an interdisciplinary course in which students come to understand and build representations of the world using devices that sense beyond the limits of human perception.

Established in 2010 in Kwun Tong industrial district, The Cave is a new upcoming team of design and creatives in Hong Kong. The team is formed by seven young local design professions, ranging from graphic design, interior design and fashion design. The team has been courageous since the start and is known for their handmade experimental reclaimed wood furniture by using abandon pallet wood and many were later exhibited in numbers of exhibitions.

A-level project piece - This experimental artwork inspired by Basquiat’s style was created on foam board, and uses acrylic paint, oil paint, oil pastels, ink pen, white gel pen and paint markers.
Working on a cool archival experimental film on environmental issues for a class, with found film slides from a thrift store.
This experimental design project was issued by the Nature Conservacy and its goal was to send designers into new landscapes and environments in search of new materials that could potentially be made into products we use everyday. For example, the trunks of raspberry jamwood shrubs were made into containers for skin creams. The experiments will be exhibited from May 2009-January 2010.

Have you ever seen something you have been imagining for days and never spoken of, suddenly represented by another artist in Flickr?? Has it ever happened to you that the type of art you do suddenly appears in your favourite artist or bands´ artwork without them having possibly known? This sort of coincidence is known as Synchronicity but a group of artists and I have been observing the amount of times these coincidences happen. It has happened at least once to almost every person. This is a glimpse of what the scientific term of Collective Unconscious means and how it permeates reality, as science has shown before. The experiment we are about to embark on is based not on promoting synchronistic phenomena but merely on registering each time this happens until we have a large list of these synchronistic phenomena and can find general common factors. There is a place where all thoughts from everyone come together, the place where we dream things that happen or that dont, the place of beauty and art, our dreams. If this has happened to you, you would be helping an ongoing investigation if either you just mentioned it has happened to you (the mere affirmative has statistical value) or you kindly described your case as a comment on this journal. I will let all those who participate know the final result.
2021-03-24 -- Students in the Experimental Design Fashion course learn to create works using non-standard materials and structures. Their current project involves smart textiles and digital fabrication.
