LOCAL MATERIALS: The kindergarten was built using a gravel bag and stone foundation, adobe, cob, strawbale, earthen plasters and paints, and a living roof. Professor Sigrira Perret-Gentil's photography class traveled to Atlanta's eclectic neighborhood, Little 5 Points, a perfect spot to practice their photography skills. As part of their on-location assignment, students were given a long list of interesting items (and people) to capture.

Freshman students learned how to pick coffee in Cedral, Southern Costa Rica. Here, they walk up a mountain to the coffee plantations.

Elliott Gorishek, an undergraduate student in materials science and engineering, helps University of Michigan first year engineering students as they pour molten metal as they tour Joyworks LLC in Ann Arbor on Thursday evening, February 9, 2023. The tour was led by Materials Science and Engineering Professor Tim Chambers and Chip Keough, adjunct professor and owner of Joyworks.

 

The excursion to Joyworks was primarily a recruitment event for first year engineering students, an opportunity to introduce them to some of the hands-on experience of what is possible in Materials Science and Engineering.

Detail shot of the original letters for King Street Station. We didn't replace them, we carefully restored them. Paint was stripped, rusty spots were carefully cut out and patched, it was very important to retain the historical fabric of this project.

Professor Lee Jefferson's CentreTerm Class REL 305: Creating Religious Identity through Food examined foods relationship to religious identity by examining food traditions across multiple religous groups and cooking signature dishes. Images taken on January 7, 2016.

This is an actual portable climbing wall we built that teaches kids about the different layers of the earth's depths.

Part of a positioning system we designed for Russell Williams to build wing ribs with. All of these pieces when clamped together, help insure the epoxy maintains the perfect tolerance so as to not starve the glue joint. Plus it makes it easier.

26 IIT Kanpur Students participated in 5 Days /4 Nights in March 2009Zice Rafting Expedition organized by Zice Holidays - Your Offbeat . Adventure and Learning Partner.

  

The rafting expedition covered 110 Kms of strenuous paddling down River Alaknanda and Ganges. The expedition lasted for 5 Days /4 Nights covering major Rapids. Rafting started from Srinagar and ended in Shivpuri. Expedition covered activities like White water Rafting, Rescue Procedures, Survival Techniques , Disaster Management,Tent Pitching, Rationing ,Cooking ,Mobile Camping , Clean Ship, Kayaking, Treks, Making Camp fires.
