Whenever it stops raining here, we all run out and mow the lawn. So this is from the archives for The Sunday Challenge, "Relaxing in the Outdoors."
These are my students hiking at Elk Plaza in Yellowstone, with Sheep Mountain in the background. I think they're relaxing, though *I'm* working.
Here's what the class is about:

On occasion, my Flickr friends, I am going to post scanned images from a weeklong Nature Conservancy trip I took in February 1991 to the Peruvian Amazon. Our tour group stayed at Explorama Lodge, 50 miles down the Amazon River from Iquitos, and Explorama Camp, 95 miles from Iquitos.
These first images are of the Lodge. Established in 1965, the Lodge is the original and largest of Explorama's properties. The Lodge consists of palm-thatched houses on covered walkways with 10-17 sleeping rooms. Accommodations are delightfully "primitive" as there is no electricity or modern plumbing. Rooms are furnished with kerosene lamps, beds enclosed in mosquito netting, a basin and pitcher of water. Safe drinking water is available many places around the site. That week was a wonderful adventure in experiential learning!

Welcome to today’s Abundant World meditation, “Spirit of Authentic Presence” led by Jackie Lowe Stevenson, CEO of The Spirit of Leadership.
Our journey begins on ancient grounds adjacent to Lake Erie, one of our planet’s great freshwater lakes.
Pebble ledges left by receding glaciers, traveled by indigenous tribes and foraged by roaming herds, this land is a sacred gateway to nature’s aliveness.
Connect to the freedom that resides deep within your heart of entrepreneurial resilience.

Wayne State University College of Engineering alumnus Benny Wong, ME ’91, participated as an undergraduate student in a co-op program at Ford Motor Company—and has worked there ever since. He currently serves as Ford’s engineering supervisor and lead recruiter for WSU engineering students and has served in this capacity since 2005. In this position he coordinates participation of fall engineering career fairs in an effort to secure interns, co-op students and entry-level engineers.
Wong is pictured above with WSU Career Services Office team members (from left to right) Diane Grimord, Maureen Johnson and Carmen Gamlin. He recently met with the CSO team to address an increased demand for locally educated engineering talent in mechanical engineering and electrical/computer engineering. Specifically, Wong is interested in developing a recruitment plan with Wayne State for parallel/part-time, year-round co-op positions in Ford’s Product Development Center. Selected students may obtain a co-op position in one of five divisions: Global Engine Engineering, Transmissions and Driveline, Powertrain Controls, Sustainability and Mobility, and Digital Innovation.
Grimond, who is celebrating 31 years of WSU Career Services and 35 with the university, served as Wong’s co-op coordinator when he was a student at Wayne State.
