Online travel agencies such as Expedia take the place of the travel agent and the hotel clerk by providing services as well as products. This exemplifies "the death of distance" trend.

Was looking for hotels in Clearwater on Expedia.com... I think their system is a little screwed up.. I wouldn't pay $10,000 a night for a Courtyard Marriott, this is not photoshop'd, straight screen capture.

While I was taking this picture, I couldn't help but think of all the poor people who booked trips on Expedia who were now stuck because of the volcano eruption in Iceland. I guess I was lucky, all I had to do was buy a one way train ticket to Paris from Nice because my flight got cancelled on April 19th.

Thumbs up for Expedia! Two of the Emelias meet the ladies from AI HUA International Travel: Kristie Wong, Joanna Yang and Helen Cheng.
Infringilicious!
They even used the Expedia logo and everything. Somehow, I doubt mall kiosk tour resellers cleared the rights with Microsoft.
Right after I took this picture, a Security Guard told me that I had to obtain permission to photograph this building unless I was on the sidewalk. Luckily, he didn't want anything else.

Reading faces is very important. It helps us understand what people are really thinking. Too many advertisers fail to pay enough attention to the 'face' portrayed in their ads. But this likeable rogue in the Expedia ad, gets it about right. Although what doesn't compute is the link between the face and the offer. But smart use relevant prop in form of passport photographs. Although as someone pointed out to me in the office, "you don't get four different pics anymore"; - but let's give Expedia (or more to the point their Comms agency) a little creative licence here.
