Saw this very large terrapin in the fens yesterday, is it a red-eared slider Trachemys scripta elegans? Looked around the size of a dinner plate; presumably someone's abandoned pet...

There are many special wildlife sights in Australia's Wet Tropics World Heritage Area, and this ranks very high among those sights for me. The exotic vigorous courtship display of the male Victoria's Riflebird, Ptiloris victoriae, is such a privilege to witness. Metallic highlights shimmer among the black plumage as his wings spread high and wide. Will she be impressed?

This isn't the more densely black shot I've taken of this bird many times before, but this one shows me details I've not seen before in the way his plumage moves during this display. The more I look at this shot the more I wonder if this is in fact a male that has NEARLY reached full adult plumage. From my research this occurs between 5 and 7 years old.

An ex Italian operated Mercedes Benz O303 touring coach at a Belgian dealers yard.

This former Puccioni of Castelfiorentino machine is of particular interest as it has Padane of Modena bodywork.

Trathens of Yelverton had two right-hand drive versions of this combination new in 1980, and there were just 10 of these bodies built (7 on Volvo B10M & 1 on a Leyland Tiger) for UK operators as I believe they were rather pricey by comparison with other builders.

I'd guess at this fine looking coach being a similar age, but it's certainly no newer than 1992 as Padane had gone bankrupt by then- and I also think the O303 chassis was replaced by the O404 around this time too.

Agent Provocateur in SoHo

Unlike my friend Matt's Autumn Exotics, which is well thought out and framed for a minimal amount of distraction and allowing the automobile beauties to shine forth, I must resort to trickery and tomfoolery. Ha! Anyway, for me, the cars are the thing and to have five of 'em all lined up, waiting to take off and barrel on down the rural roads around of which I reside (and hoping the cops are not around) is indeed a thing of beauty.

From a visit to D Dutchmen Dairy in Sicamous, BC

People are running all over Joshua Tree National Park shooting these yellow flowers. They're called, "weeds," I think. These were shot in my back yard.

I admit trying to shoot magenta blooms on some sort of opuintia cactus but decided against it when I saw how many "resources" I'd have to step on to reach the opuintia.

Pre-Columbian Art.

(Created in Mexico)

This is my souvenir to myself from the Museum of Art and History in Albuquerque, NM. It is a male figure sitting with face paint in the style of Lagunillas in the interpretation of the funeral.

The interpretation on the card that came with the statue was translated very poorly, so I just added the first paragraph above. It explained well enough what it is.

I took this image at the Little Rock Zoo in 2016

Took this photo in my friend's garden during the innings break on the day of the India-Pakistan match. I just Love the way there's this subtle bokeh pattern formed around the edges of the leaves.

Comments/Critics welcome and someone please enlighten me with the name of this plant.
