With Gustav Klimt / Josef Hoffmann, the Belvedere pays tribute to two pioneers of Modernism in a comprehensive exhibition that simultaneously introduces the Klimt Year 2012. The painter Gustav Klimt (1862–1918) and the architect and product and interior designer Josef Hoffmann shared a common vision of an art that was meant to touch all spheres of life.
The aim was to develop an intriguing concept with a new didactic approach for an exhibition, therefore visitors can create their individual exhibition booklet. In the whole exhibition area several „pad of paper-walls“ were installed to strip off a sheet from a block with the room‘s information on the backside. As a next step you have to fold it & collect it. Because of different front covers there are 80 different sheets and billions of possibilities to create your unique exhibition booklet.
