This custom conference table features three multitouch displays embedded in a varnished quilted maple frame. Our skilled craftspeople processed the raw wood in our Exhibit Fabrication Studio and both the displays and the computer were assembled in our workshop. This is a close-up image of two custom stretch multitouch LCD monitors which have been placed below two enormous red cedar totem poles from British Columbia. These beautiful totem poles are at the entrance to the Hall of Native Americans at the world-renowned Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago.
These unique ultra-wide touch monitors were custom built by Ideum for the Field Museum. The monitors have a 16:5 aspect ratio and support up to 20 simultaneous touch points.
The custom touch screens help describe the features found on the totem poles which are "ornately carved with figures of grizzly bears, birds, and killer whales."
Ideum collaborated with the Field to design these units and has produced 80 of these custom multitouch systems to replace reading rails throughout the museum. To learn more about Ideum's custom work visit: ideum.com/creative-services

The Girl Scouts visit on July 24, 2019, was part of Ideum’s ongoing support of local non-profit organizations whose mission is to support local education and social justice. Because Ideum’s work spans engineering, hardware design and fabrication, and custom software programming, our team was able to offer a meaningful experience for local girls with broad interests in pursuing careers in science, technology, arts, or mathematics.

This interactive experience was developed in collaboration with the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium and takes place on a curved 14' projection wall. Intervoke's stunning 3D imagery pulls the visitor into a unique immersive experience. Visitors will use a custom Ideum console with an embedded 43" Inline display and joystick to initiate their journey and learn about the neurological systems they encounter along the way.

Ideum’s newest facility, a 5,500 square foot Exhibit Fabrication Studio, is located in historic downtown Corrales, NM, and formerly hosted a woodworking and cabinetry shop. The Exhibit Fabrication Studio which features state-of-the-art tools such as a new CNC, plasma cutter, and mill, along with a variety of woodworking tools, allows Ideum to build exciting next generation of digital exhibits, first-of-its-kind smart furniture incorporating embedded displays and electronics, sensors and LED lighting, projection mapping and video wall experiences. It features a wood, metal, and plastic fabrication shop and prototype AV staging area installations involving multiple displays and complex projection systems.

Ideum collaborated with Architects HGW and the Zoo on the design for a series of interactive microscope stations. Ideum fabricated the pieces, integrated the displays and microscopes, and created the interactive software.
Scheduled for opening early next year, the new Denny Sanford Wildlife Explorers Basecamp at the world-famous San Diego Zoo is an innovative and dynamic play/learning environment for children. Working closely with the Zoo and Architects HGW, Ideum has developed more than 20 exhibits for the Zoo’s indoor spaces. Ideum designed and built a range of interactive experiences that appear in two brand-new buildings: the Herpetology and Ichthyology building (focusing on reptiles, amphibians, and fish) and the Invertebrate building (insects, arachnids, and crustaceans).
Our team performs full-scale exhibit and application testing in our Exhibit Fabrication Studio to ensure seamlessly engaging experiences. This exhibit was designed in collaboration with the Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame in Ft. Worth, TX, for an exhibition opening March 9, 2019.
