Cloud formation over the Exe Estuary, looking from Starcross to Exmouth. 24 August 2022, taken from a fast moving train. I did not have time to get my camera out, but had to make do with the phone. As can be seen from the sliver of blue sky, this is a colour photo, but almost all is shades of grey.

The larger boats are the foot ferryboats that run across the estuary in summer from Starcross to Exmouth, now moored for the winter (so appearing in a lot of my photos!). The crane indicates more building work at the Exmouth marina apartments!

As the evening shadows start to spread across Cockwood Harbour 'Crompton' 33062 powers through hauling it's rake of blue and grey Mk 1's northbound on April 9th 1987.
Looking across the Exe Estuary at low tide from Lympstone to Starcross, Devon, England.
You can just make out the Atmospheric Railway Pumping House tower in the haze across the river at Starcross and the Haldon Hills beyond. The birds feeding on the mudflats are mostly Black-headed Gulls, but there are also Black-tailed Godwit, Grey Heron and Great Cormorant visible. On a glorious afternoon, at last, last Saturday!
