On our recent visit to Ellis Creek, which is right next to Shollenberger in Petaluma, we heard the loud cry of a Killdeer. We spotted her close to the trail we were walking on...she wasn't doing the broken wing thing but came right toward us. To our surprise we could see two newly hatched chicks in the nest and there was an additional egg unhatched. She seemed pretty 'excited' and upset so we left. I'm always amazed how close to trails and roads these birds choose as nesting sites!?

Back Story ..............
Arrived just before 7AM on Saturday, March 15th.
Got myself sorted out then entered Mamas Palace.
Slightly surprised the Brown family was not home ? !
.
Well OK I'll just wander on over to see Leroy and friends.
Now these guys were extremely excited to see me, of
course their breakfast was spread out which was instantly
consumed.
Shot a few monkeys, played around with Leroy while avoiding
all the tourists. Not long I was heading back to the Palace.
.
Right when I set foot into the DMZ I see three Brown Dogs come
racing out of the bushes heading straight for me....;-)
.
Baby Betty tries to put on the brakes but crashes into to my legs
while Mama arrives a second later with a huge smile on her face.
.
Mr Brown waits a few feet away watching over his happy family.
Speaking of Mr Brown, he came up close wanting to say hello.
I slowly reached out and rubbed his massive head. A bond has been
made at last. An his head is really big, solid like cement solid, he's
a big boy. Maybe Little Baby Betty will end up being a big girl too.....
.
Mama is quite content to be home, it's easy to see this in her manners.
Doing a lot of just laying around and watching Baby Betty chase the
the monkeys. Mr Brown also stays close to Mama as if to protect her from
the Evil Primates...
.
Just like Mama-san, my no# 1 wife is pretty burned out, in fact my body feels
like I went a couple rounds with Chuck Norris too.
OK, I wouldn't last one round with Chuck Norris but it still feels like I went 2 rounds.
.
Hope to be back out with the Brown Family tomorrow, Sunday the 16th.
And of course y'all will be kept updated through photos an text of everything going on.
.
Thanks goes out for all your comments and support, always appreciated.......;-)
.
ps:just noticed the camera says this photo was taken yesterday, not true.
was taken 4 hours ago which means I need to reset the camera clock/date.

45108 pauses at Chester with the 12.57 Scarborough - Bangor. I seem to have got quite excited over this peak having scratched it for haulage the day before. It just eluded me for ages like 45141 so I was off the train and out snapping with the camera at Man Vic, here, Lland Junc and Bangor.

So I went out and took some senior pictures this weekend! This is something that I came up with and I decided to make it more of a conceptual photo than a senior portrait so I have my client likes it! I think they will! Anyways I'm moving to California in 2 days and I'm really excited for all the photo opportunities on my way out there!! If you live in LA we should shoot together!!

or is just that it is 2 days to Christmas! Ryan is very excited..what a nice time of year to be a 4 year old!
I'm thrilled that Saguaro National Park selected my photo to appear on their new "Passport To Your National Parks" sticker.
The "Passport" program began in 1986 and is administered by a non-profit partner with the National Park Service. They publish a set of ten "stickers" annually, representing ten different units in the NPS, as well as maintaining free cancellation stamps in most park bookstores or visitor centers that allow visitors to record the date and location of their visit. In 2022, they began for the first time to issue individual park stickers such as this one. It's a fun program and one in which I've participated every year since its origination. It's cool to look back and recall park visits from decades ago which would otherwise have been lost to this Old Guy's fading memory. There's more information here about "Passport To Your National Parks".
Jet has arrived!
She is our newest dolly guest and we are so thrilled to have her here for a few days.
Looks like some little guys are excited to greet her! She must love dogs and I hope she loves Tim Burton too! ;D
Thank you for letting me host this cutie for a few days Gina! She's so gorgeous!!! She didn't pack light. :P xo
I'm very excited to share the latest campaign I shot a few weeks ago for TK Maxx in Cape Town, South Africa.
Me By Me, the SS14 project launched last week, is a campaign that encourages people to experiment with style and believes that people are at their most attractive when they are being their true self.
We found real customers with no modelling experience through casting sessions at TK Maxx stores in Germany, Poland, Ireland and the UK for then to come together and make a film and photo shoot in Cape Town.
The campaign was created by The Brooklyn Brothers London, headed by the creatives Xander Smith and Jonathan Santana, and the video was directed by the French collective ABCDCD.
Check out more images in my website here: eudesdesantana.com/advertising.html and the campaign hub here: mebyme.tkmaxx.com
I'm leaving in a few minutes and I couldn't find a picture that I'd taken that conveyed what I felt, so I'm posting something I've made!! I am totally excited for tonight and I'll catch up with you all tomorrow!! Take care everyone!

Back Story .........................................
Left early, arrived early, Mama was waiting.
Took care of BTP and Mama while filling a
number of special feed bags. Soon we were
over at The Leroy Crews Turf where a bunch of
excited Hooligans were going absolutely nuts ..;-)
Pointed at the calendar, made a scissor like motion
with my fingers while pointing at 2-Tone. Held up 9
fingers indicating 9 o'clock. They knew exactly what
I was saying, they've been patiently waiting.
Glanced to my left, spotted Rocky inside the boundary
line, DJ was laying on his back in total submission to him.
With BTP, Mama and Freckles in tow we picked up Rocky
and head towards the nuns place. Laid out some kibble for
the little puppies as we passed. Legs joined us on the way to
the spirit house as Freckles an BTP lingered and didn't want to
pass the nuns place. Why ? Cuz MAD Dog scares them to death.
At 9 o'clock sharp the scooter/sidecar pulled into The Leroy
Crews Turf. Stopped right in front of the head monk who was
sitting in his chair, his hand was holding 2-Tone by her collar.
Attached the leash and carried her into the sidecar, she's
very nervous. My left hand never left her head and neck
all the way to the dog doctors clinic. Remember I had
made a new rule ? No camera gear when transporting a dog
that had never ridden in the sidecar. Well I broke my own rule.
But, this was thought out beforehand. Notice the 35mm 1.8 lens
was attached to a D300. Figured if the Nikkor 17-55 2.8 was
left at home the 35mm would be no big deal due to being so
light weight. That was ok but, a lot of photo ops were missed.
The camera work I do out here in the jungle definitely needs
to be a zoom type lens.
In a few hours 2-Tone will be picked up an returned to the
monkey temple. That will put me back home at 8:PM +or-.
As usual she will return to the clinic two more times for a ck-up
and bandage change. 3rd time the stitches will be removed.
Noon o'clock right now and I need to make breakfast ......... ;-)

I've ordered myself something rather nice. I'm so excited! My Grandad gave me a little bit of money before he passed away, and told me to use it for something useful rather than just spending it. It's been sitting in my drawer for the whole year, gathering dust. I'd been pondering for ages, so this isnt something I've decided to buy on a whim. Jack fully agrees that I should buy it. I know it's something my Grandad would totally approve of too :D My mum will tell me I'm a fool, especially considering the current financial climate and my situation, but I'm seeing it as an investment.
I expect it to arrive within the week so will be sure to show you what it is (and no, no sports car... I said a little bit of money!)
She was so excited to go out into the snow and picked immediately a large chunk to make a snowball. Then she broke a piece of ice from the frozen water spout.
The little things that make her happy on a cold winter day :-)
Debrief time!
Brickvention 2018 was a success and my position as a guest speaker was one of the best experiences I've ever had. I had no idea just how many people were excited to meet me, and interested in what I have to share. If I was told a few years ago I'd be flown down to the other end of the country to guest-speak about my hobby in front of a 300+ strong crowd and spend the weekend in a hall full of lest I say fans I'd think you were making fun of me. It's wonderful that people want me to keep this brands history alive.
Met some awesome facebook friends from all over the country that have only been names on a screen til now, and I can't wait to catch up again in the future!
One highlight was being called up to the admin team over the PA, worrying I'd forgotten something, and racing over only to find Claus Kristensen, the General Manager of LEGO Australia waiting to meet me, and us swapping details so he could see the recording of my speech he was interested in. That's something I'll never forget.
I got to meet with Eliska and Larry Jezek, parents of Daniel Jezek, Bricklink's founder, and chat with them for a while about what possibilities such a site has been able to provide.
I also spent some time with the effervescent Mariann Asanuma which was an awesome experience in itself!
Signing autographs and having photos taken was not something I was expecting, but it's obvious I'm doing something right. I was humbled by a family down there with a son on the spectrum who struggles to leave his home due to severe anxiety and sensory overload. He braved the 10,000 odd attendants and all the light and sound specifically to come see me, and the parents noted that it too his behavioural specialist longer to connect with this kid. I am grateful for the position I'm in and wouldn't change a thing.
In September and October I'm going global, with a trip to Denmark, where I've been allowed on a tour of the LEGO Factory, Idea House, archives and vault, with a good 30 other Aussies, so I'll see where that takes me =)
As my wife and I were driving Route 23 north in Kentucky headed towards West Virginia, I noticed a train headed in our same direction. I then noticed that the lead engine was a Canadian Pacific diesel, which I've never seen one in person. I looked at my wife and pretty much just said I was going to get ahead of it and stop to take a few pictures. Thankfully the tracks pace the road for several miles along that stretch of 23, so I sped up, got to a pull-off spot and was able to get out and snap some pictures.
The train consisted of a CP lead unit in tandem with a CSX engine, and then a long line of CSX coal hoppers. I snapped a bunch of pictures and then got back in the car. We got back on the road, and of course caught back up with the train. I again told my wife I was gonna get ahead of it and try to get one more set of pics, which she excitedly encouraged. I was able to get ahead of the train again, get pulled off, and setup to take another series of pictures at a different crossing.
I know for some, these pictures may be nothing special.....but for me, it was a little slice of excitement in what was an otherwise winding down road-trip as we approached Huntington WV, and then Teays Valley WV. Getting a chance to take some of my own pictures of a CP engine, and doing a quick train chase just made for an exciting evening for both of us.
I'm excited to let you know I've been featured in my favourite Canadian magazine for the Creative & Curious, UPPERCASE 8 www.uppercasegallery.ca/
