Prunus serrula (Birch Bark Cherry) Tibetan Cherry has shiny smooth red-brown bark and is native to Sino-Himalayan region. This cherry is special because it has an exceptionally beautiful and shiny lacquered-mahogany look and Elaine looks pretty good too!
BRUTTIUM, Kroton. Circa 500-480 BC. Stater (Silver, 7.96 g 12), an alliance issue with Temesa, circa 500. ϘΡΟ Tripod with legs ending in lion’s feet, and with three handles and snakes rising from the bowl; cable border. Rev. Crestless Corinthian helmet to left, incuse; rayed border. Basel 204. HN III 2096. Kraay, ACGC, 618. Extremely rare. Toned and well-struck. Good very fine.
From a New York Collection.
While the author of HN III does not consider this coin to be an alliance issue (and says nothing about the later double reverse type - HN III 2122-2124) this seems unlikely. The appearance of such an unusual type - and the fact that the letters ΤΕ are on the obverses of the later staters - makes it sure that we are dealing with a special issue, unlike the widespread eagle reverse pieces.

This large farm is near one of my work sites in middle South Georgia. I am pretty sure it was going to be soy beans. This was the condition two days ago. This field should be almost knee deep in crop plants. The seeds germinated and then died. The field is hundreds of acres. Snow falls in London in December - unusual these days. The hoardings of The Shard's construction site at London Bridge Station say it all.
Commercial and institutional buildings can offer a pleasant welcome to arriving pedestrians. Bounded by a row of trees and shrubs on either side, this sidewalk provides a moment of visual stimulation and relaxation to the pedestrian. This experience is enhanced with the addition of sculptures in fron of the building.
An exceptionally urbane attitude.
