This is a picture of a tree from my Stoney Creek. The tree is an example of a primary producer that uses sunlight and water to undergo photosynthesis and make its own foods. Some of the leaves of the tree have wholes. Theses wholes are were bugs such as caterpillars and beetles have eaten the tree. Theses bugs are examples of primary consumers, herbivores in this case (animals that eat plants).
I think that the most influential species in this location would be algae growing in the stream. The algae provides food for small fish in the creek in addition to oxygenating the stream so that the water can support life. If all the algae were removed from the stream the whole underwater ecosystem would collapse. Small fish would die since their food supply would be gone. Bigger fish that feed on the small fish would then die since the small fish would be dying. But even before the small fish die form a loss of food, the water would no longer contain oxygen and all the organisms living in the water would die. Another possibility is that all the living organisms could swim downstream to a new location were algae was present. Therefore, there would be a large dead zone in the stream at my capstone location. Animals living on land that eat fish would also suffer from no algae in the stream causing terrestrial animal to relocate to a new water source as well.
If algae was to be replaced with an invasive aquatic plant, the organisms living in the stream may not choose to eat the plant since it is unfamiliar to them. In this case, the invasive plant would overgrow in the stream. Over growing of aquatic plants also removes oxygen from the water die to high rates of decomposition of dying plants. This would eventually also cause a dead zone in the stream.
According to Slobodkin, Smith, and Hairston’s article, various aspects of the environment limit trophic levels. The flower is a primary producer that is limited by space to grown and resources needed to grow such as water and sunlight. Ants are herbivores that consume primary producers. Herbivores are limited by food supply and predators. Rolly Pollies are also herbivores that are limited by food supply and predators.
Adapted with the shadows slider set to 1.83, and the highlights slider set to -0.81. This lightens the image considerably, but makes the colors look flat.

In this example, tangible flags are used to mark the beginning and end of a route. Ultra-Tangibles moves the flags to keep them in the correct place as the user pans and zooms the map.

Draw a line from the light to a surface. Then draw another line from the surface to the camera. If the two lines are on opposite sides of the surface, the surface isn't lit. If they are on the same side of the surface, the surface is lit, whether or not the line from the light to the surface passes through any other surfaces.
