Exam photos on Flickr

I would say this is a fairly typical exam room when visiting a medical clinic in the United States. In this view you can see the bed with clean paper on it, tools used by the doctor or nurse on the wall, and the wheeled stool the doctor will use to scoot around the room while examining patients.

I had hours waiting at this place if you add up the time in the waiting room, and then waiting in this exam room.

I was happy to see this royal blue bed used for examinations. Did I get on it? No. But I just hadn't run across many blue things lately, and seeing it is one of my favorite colors, it was photo time.

This room was used to exam x-rays of weapons of mass destruction... They look at the x-rays for any flaws of the shell inside or out... Any flaws with the shell was rejected... If the shell has no flaws; it was sent to a underground bunker where it sat waiting to be shipped out.... Now this room hasn't been used in over 55 years and the underground bunker is now underwater...

Final exam - Biology by Ordo (Fabian B.)

Today’s exam was biology. Usually biology is my best subject, but the exam was not perfect this time. I could choose from three different tasks, of which I had to solve two. The first one was about genetics (which is the topic dealt with in this MoC) and the others were evolution and ecology. In the end I chose genetics, which is my favorite topic and ecology, because the task was self explanatory.

The next exam will be English on monday.

I haven't uploaded to Flickr in a few months and I'm very glad to say that my motivation has returned.

I have been away from Flickr as there were many problems which arose over the past few months. I have been battling with college, work, family life and my future. As most of my Flickr contacts are aware, my dream was - and still is - to go to university to study photography. Unfortunately, I am not going this year as planned.

Whilst applying, there was so much going on and I was finding everything difficult and decided that because of that I was not emotionally ready. Also, due to the things which were occurring in my life, my health and grades were effected. Also resulting in an another obstacle towards university, as my grades are what will help me achieve a place.

Although I'm not going to university this year, I am going to be working and possibly starting an apprenticeship in real estate. In the meantime, I will be considering if that is the path for me or university. I will continue to take photographs though regardless of my future plans.

Now less about me and more about this particular photograph. It has come around to exam time again but this time my final A level examinations. My stimulus for my photography exam this time is 'Backstage'. From this stimulus I have developed an idea to incorporate my drama exam work. My ideas for the photographs i'm taking are to show the people who play characters on stage, therefore taking portraits of the actors/actresses with their makeup/costume on. Ultimately, I want to eventually take before and after photographs to show the transformation which takes place backstage. On the technical side of my photographs, I will be experimenting with lighting to see what I can achieve; such as dramatically casting shadows like Irving Penn did within his portraiture work.

The way I have incorporated my drama exam work is by taking this image here. This is my drama exam group: Sarah Brecknell (Far left), Me (2nd on the left), Rebecca Chapman (2nd on the right) and Robyn Hughes (Far right). This photograph was taken during our first dress rehearsal for our exam piece "THE CIRCUS". Luckily (being a drama student) I have a lot of friends who won't be afraid to have a lot of face-paint and makeup put on and model for me. So many thanks to all who help/have helped throughout this process!
