In the modern days of social media etc. nonsense, remember also to read & educate yourself!

Evolution has seen the humble coffee seed, commonly called the coffee bean, being presented today in a pod with a bar code that even tells the machine how much steaming water to add to the cup. Happy Macro Mondays everyone.

I posted this awhile back and didn't really edit any of the shots since the owner wanted a natural look, but I couldn't help myself. I know I probably edited the crap out of the picture but I kinda like it.

Evolution basin is one of those sublime places in California where you feel one step closer to the sky. A place that rewards those who do the hard work to get up here. A place where mountains and lakes come together to create a magical symphony of granite and water on the stage that is Kings Canyon National Park.

I had read about and seen a lot of pictures of this seemingly mythical basin, but I set about to this place with nary an expectation. I just let the beauty of this landscape take me in visually and emotionally. And I was not disappointed. From the campsite location right on the shores of this lake, to the open vistas all around, and the innumerable lakes and tarns nestled in hidden canyons everywhere, this place scored high on every metric and benchmark I could think of as a photographer.

And even though it was 3 days of hiking to get there, it was worth every painful step. It just left me hoping that I could come back here to spend even more time in this beautiful basin.

Echoes Evolution Forgot

She wasn’t born a seeress; she became one the day she found the old camera, dusty and humming with secrets.

Each click peeled back the skin of time, ghosts in lace, wars half-forgotten, lovers touching hands they hadn't yet met.

Through the cracked viewfinder, she saw futures stumble,

pasts ache to be remembered.

The world spun slow when she looked;

history whispered through the lens, and tomorrow blinked at her like a shy star.

In her hands, memory and prophecy became photographs nobody else could see...

The evolution of an iconic camera: Hasselblad 500 C/M, 903 SWC, 907x/50c. Timeless design, quality and most of all tools for the most beautiful activity ever - photography. I started to shot medium format 30 years ago with a 503 CX. After a break for digital expierences - I sold my faithful Hasselblad... - I restarted analog medium photography in 2016 and soon got a digital back for my now 500 C/M. Meanwhile I got a SWC and at least a 907x. I can use the digital back with 50 MP (that's enough IMO) on both the 500 C/M and the SWC. As I retired I have time enough for my beauties...

Hippeastrum, these plants are popularly but erroneously known as Amaryllis and are cultivars of bulbous plants in the family Amaryllidacea.

The botanical name Amaryllis is taken from a shepherdess in Virgil's pastoral "Eclogues"(An eclogue is a poem in a classical style on a pastoral subject.

Poems in the genre are sometimes also called bucolics. Virgilius wrote the Bucolica, consisting of 10 Eclogues).

As a flower symbol it has come to mean "Dramatic", which seems most fitting here!

Hippeastrum is a popular bulb flower for indoor growing, it is Greek for "horseman's star" (also known today as "knight's star").

Life is but a brief journey through time. The Awe of the Grand Canyon makes us pause and ponder the real scale of time. A true beast of nature, the climate, has had it up’s and Downs: Hot periods, Cold periods, Glaciers to Floods, Tropics to Mountains, and, Today, here sets one of the great testaments to those violent periods in the evolution of Earth.

Mans existence is but a blink in the vast time scale of Earth. And yet, from her violent past, she leaves us this great spectacle so we may glimpse her troubled past.

Evolution detached from god. Evolution as a reality beyond our own, beyond physics and chemistry, language and expression. Evolution in the subconscious. Inside and outside. Consciousness of time is not within our reach. The perfect fit on an indivisible, invisible, "impossible" scale. Just sensitive. The logic of logic. The logic of the imperceptible. godless -Infinity-, perfectly organic; perfect, symmetric. The art of nature in its infinite patterns. The conjunction of everything.

Macro Mondays theme, 'Evolution'.

Maybe a slight twist on the two objects rule, we shall see.

But it is within the 3inch rule ;-))

A WEEK of LISIANTHUS... five

LYSIANTHUS , unfurling in front of your eyes.

Originating in the West Indies, Mexico, and Central and South America, the flower is known botanically as Eustoma grandiflorum.

The common name comes from the Greek words lysis, meaning 'dissolution' and anthos, meaning 'flower' Lysianthus is also known as eustoma.

Colours include white, light and dark pink, lavender and deep purple. Double and single-flower varieties exist.

Apparently many people do not know what it is, but everyone loves it!

Thank you, M, (*_*)

I love seeing where they come from, what they look like at their peak!

Those huge heads, so layered, all coming out of this one bud... it NEVER ceases to amaze me.

The evolution, the unfurling, the GRAND opening...

The peony is the only genus in the flowering plant family Paeoniaceae. They are native to Asia, Southern Europe and western North America but grow very well here too, Peonies are actually very easy to grow; once established they can tolerate drought and suffer from very few diseases.

Colours range from pure white through baby pinks and palest peaches to clear deep pink and darkest rich maroon. There is also a pale yellow but it is rare.

Peonies are only available between late May and early July, so get them while you can!

They are very thirsty flowers, so make sure you top up the vase or bowl.

The Greeks believed they could cure over 20 ailments and were found in every monastery garden.

Peonies have been cultivated for over 2,000 years, more for their medicinal qualities than for ornament.

The Japanese protect the earliest peony blooms from the snow by protecting them with individual small thatched shelters. Some geishas used to wear special peony colours.

The Chinese name for peony is "sho yu" which means "most beautiful" and they idolised this flower.

The common thread is that the flower always denotes luxury and indulgence.

Went for again for a dramatic lighting, to make them 'different' from other flower images...

My favourite... Lol, thanx for your time and comments, M, (*_*)
