Due to weather concerns, the three remaining Governor celebratory balls for Roy Cooper were combined into one large bash at Marbles Kids Museum on Friday in Downtown Raleigh.

In spite of the weather, thousands of attendees came to see the newly installed Governor. The three thousand person building occupancy was at capacity most of the evening. An overflow line containing several hundred patrons formed early, remaining until each replaced those leaving one-by-one. In spite of the wait, once inside the mood of all seemed jovial and festive.

Marbles Museum Director Sally Edwards said in between personally bussing tables, she was very proud of her staff pulling off the event on such short notice. According to her, the venue change was confirmed at only eleven o'clock that very morning.

Not all venues were given the same chance to shine as granted Marbles. According to NC State University staffers, the decision to consolidate sites was heard only after their tables were literally set with silverware.

Regardless of any inconvenience, the decision to combine festivities in order to shorten the evening was likely a very wise decision.
