Domenica 8 dicembre, alle ore 18:00, presso il Museo Diocesano di Pavia, nell’ambito delle attività di approfondimento legate alla mostra L’epoca fragile?, si è tenuto il Concerto del mare nell’epoca fragile, con la partecipazione straordinaria della Casa dello Spirito e delle Arti e del Conservatorio Franco Vittadini.
Al centro della serata gli strumenti realizzati nella Liuteria del Carcere di Opera con il legno delle barche dei migranti, suonati dagli studenti del Conservatorio cittadino, che hanno eseguito W.A Mozart, Quintetto n. 4 per archi in sol minore, k. 516, Adagio ma non troppo e L. V. Beethoven, Quartetto per archi in do minore n. 4 op. 18, Allegro ma non tanto sotto il coordinamento di Michele Ferrando, organizzatore per Convivio della serata.
Il concerto, quanto agli strumenti utilizzati e al programma eseguito, è stato un ulteriore rilancio del messaggio che la mostra, con il suo percorso espositivo multisensoriale e immersivo, si è proposta di lanciare alla città: l’essere-in-relazione, che si concretizza nella cura dell’altro, come ‘spazio’ di salvezza, ovvero come opportunità feconda e vivace per riuscire ad abitare le diverse fragilità che ineluttabilmente caratterizzano l’umano e potere così, insieme, oltrepassarle.
Gli strumenti musicali che sono stati utilizzati per l’esibizione musicale, infatti, sono realizzati con il legno intriso di sangue di quelle vittime innocenti, quei migranti, che, non curati, hanno visto la loro vita finire il tragedia, legno però che, recuperato e lavorato da alcuni carcerati, da segno di morte, tramite questo prezioso lavoro di cura e di liuteria, si è trasformato in gesto di vita, divenendo possibilità per un nuovo inizio, nella musica, per tutti.
Si tratta, come anche le musiche di Mozart e di Beethoven scelte per l’iniziativa hanno rimarcato, di quel passaggio dal buio alla luce, dalla disperazione alla speranza, ovvero dal travolgimento del male allora sua trasfigurazione in bene nel saperlo riconoscere e ‘abitare’ grazie anche alla forza che ci viene dall’altro, che è la missione cui deve tendere ogni essere essere umano che voglia dirsi compiuto, intorno al quale si interroga l’intera mostra.
Il concerto, che sarebbe dovuto essere il momento conclusivo dell'intero progetto, è stato invece l’occasione di annuncio dell’ulteriore prosecuzione della mostra L’epoca fragile?, che, vista la generosa risposta cittadina, sarà ancora visitabile, contrariamente a quanto precedentemente annunciato, sabato 14 dicembre (dalle 14:30 alle 18:30) e domenica 15 dicembre (dalle 10:00 alle 12:00 e dalle 14:30 alle 18:30).

Plug and Play Tech Center, in conjunction with Confindustria, SVIEC, BAIA, Italian Trade Commission, Consulate General of Italy and M31, held their Italia Day event on November 7th, 2013. Speakers featured included Mauro Battocchi (Consul General of Italy in San Francisco), Jeff Capaccio (Chairman, SVIEC), Giacomo Marini (Co-Founder of Logitech), and Saeed Amidi (CEO, Founder of Plug and Play). The event also showcased 7 startups.
During this event, more than 100 LIFE projects on waste and resource efficiency gathered to learn from each other, promote networking and explore synergies. The relevance of these projects to waste policies was analysed and policy impacts assessed. The new LIFE regulation, ongoing policy developments and new funding opportunities for circular economy projects were discussed.

The first of several multi-industry gatherings celebrating the countdown to Hispanicize 2013 (April 9-13, 2013) took place in Miami at The Stage Wednesday.
The event brought together Latino bloggers, journalists, advertising and PR professionals, filmmakers and music industry executives.
The purpose of the evening meet up was to preview how different industries can be involved in presenting or speaking at Hispanicize 2013 and to do it in a fun, festive atmosphere that included great networking. As part of this year's gatherings small toys were collected for the New York-based Pa’l Pueblo Holiday Toy Drive, which collects, wraps and delivers gifts to the 500 underserved children in the Bushwick United Headstart Program of New York.
Sponsored by DigiBunch, the new viral video production and distribution service, the event was held in partnership with the Public Relations Society of America, PRODU, Hispanic Market Weekly, Latin Heat and Getty Images Hispanic.
