Even deeper into the heart of Tunisia and closer to desert, camels appear. Large number of camels with a single herder or two. They seem to know they rule this area with their haughty and confident attitude on full display. During this trip, they became on of my favorite animals to watch and enjoy.

Even though Lake Meyer was almost completely covered in ice yet today, this charming bufflehead couple found a little sliver of open water to rest on as they move north to Minnesota or Canada for the summer.

Even on a cool foggy morning, from a long ways away, this cow raised its head and wondered why I would stop to take its picture. It didn't have the foggiest of notions about how pretty the scene was.

Even without its colors and highlights the rose holds its beauty in sepia form.

Another image from my visit to St Paul's a few weeks back, this one taken from the top level viewing platform, called the Golden Gallery. You get some stunning views from up there and it was well worth the 500+ steps to climb up there, even if some of the passageways one has to navigate are on the tiny side!

The Vermilion Flycatcher:

A feathered ember in a desert landscape, the male Vermilion Flycatcher is exactly what its name says: a brilliant red bird that hawks flying insects from conspicuous perches on shrub tops and fences. Females are delightful in their own way, subtle gray-brown birds with a warm salmon-red blush to the underparts. Though they barely reach the southwestern U.S., this species is common all the way through Central America and much of South America.

There are 12 subspecies of Vermilion Flycatcher found from the southwestern U.S. all the way south to northern Chile. Some of the birds in the southernmost part of their range are ashy gray-brown overall, with only a few red feathers on the head.

When male Vermilion Flycatchers court females, they bring gifts: often a butterfly or other flashy insect.

Like many members of the Tyrannidae, or "tyrant flycatcher" family, Vermilion Flycatchers are prone to wander. There are records of this species way out of their normal range, as far afield as Minnesota, Maryland, and British Columbia.

The oldest recorded Vermilion Flycatcher was a male at least 4 years, 6 months old when he was collected in Mexico, the same country where he had been banded.

Rothirsch (Cervus elaphus) - Deer

Deer (Cervus elaphus)

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deer

Deer (singular and plural) are the hoofed ruminant mammals forming the family Cervidae. The two main groups of deer are the Cervinae, including the muntjac, the elk (wapiti), the fallow deer, and the chital; and the Capreolinae, including the reindeer (caribou), the roe deer, and the moose. Female reindeer, and male deer of all species except the Chinese water deer, grow and shed new antlers each year. In this they differ from permanently horned antelope, which are part of a different family (Bovidae) within the same order of even-toed ungulates (Artiodactyla).

The musk deer (Moschidae) of Asia and chevrotains (Tragulidae) of tropical African and Asian forests are separate families within the ruminant clade (Ruminantia). They are no more closely related to deer than are other even-toed ungulates.

Deer appear in art from Paleolithic cave paintings onwards, and they have played a role in mythology, religion, and literature throughout history, as well as in heraldry. Their economic importance includes the use of their meat as venison, their skins as soft, strong buckskin, and their antlers as handles for knives. Deer hunting has been a popular activity since at least the Middle Ages and remains a resource for many families today.

Even with the later sunrises, I haven't been very good about getting out early with the camera, but I did make it one day last week. This is a three shot HDR to try to keep detail in both the sky and the foreground.

I've got so many pictures of the forest that sometimes I don't even remember I have them. Not all of them are presentable, but I like to share those nice. I could fill my stream for quite some time with fancy trees, but they would get unrecognizable. I will have to break it with something else...

Featuring even more goodies from Summer Camp and the event has extended till August 15th!!!

I was desperate to get back to Pembrokeshire, just to get a dose of blue seas and limestone cliffs. The Stack Rocks area didn't disappoint, I spent a lovely few hours slowly scrambling around the healands and just taking in these wonderful seascapes. Even The Stars is by I Am Kloot

I live in a region with a very mild climate (figs, almond trees often bloom from the end of February). Our roses bloom until December, sometimes even January. The hoarfrost a few days ago decorated it bizarrely. But now these flowers have withered, there are still new buds.

Can you see them

The ones to the right

Sigh

There is Love everywhere

You just need to be a bit observant

Crawl a bit on the ground

Ignore the wet grass

And not to mention the mud

It's always wet and sticky

Not to be embarrased if someone sees you

Just lay still and pretend this is the most normal thing to do

Happy shooting

Getting a thrill

Holding hands is a way to spread love

You will feel supported

Safe

Loved

And you will spread this love to those who sees you

You will soften their heart

Letting them get another focus in a few seconds

Giving them a memory they will cherish without them even knowing they do that

Mother Nature is sprading love in many ways

I've seen her holding hands often

That's why I love hiking in my forest

Breathing in Mother Natures love

That is actually what I'm doing when I'm out hiking

So, the secret is out

lol

Happy Smile On Saturday, you guys

On a lovely summer evening in June 2007, I was waiting near Vretstorp (on the main line Stockholm - Göteborg) for things to come.

Seen here is highspeed train 445 to Gothenburg. It was 19:30 and the sun would not set for another three hours...
