working the rocks all the time.

the soft wins over the hard.

It was a magical evening on the faraway asteroid of Eldila; the sun was setting bright behind the prismatic cliffs that rise above the always serene Selenial Sea.

He and I, the king of this fairytale world and his queen, were sitting on a purple reef close to the shore; we were looking at each other affectionately, holding hands.

It must have been a romantic scene, but was it?

A woodland in full color is awesome as a forest fire, in magnitude at least, but a single tree is like a dancing tongue of flame to warm the heart. Hal Borland

The River Sligachan is said to have been enchanted by fairies, and the story behind it has been passed down for generations. The tale revolves around Scáthach, Scotland’s greatest ever warriore. Her unparalleled skill in combat drew warriors from all over Scotland and Ireland in their attempts to challenge her. One such challenger was the Irish demi-god Cú Chulainn. The two squared off in a fierce battle that threatened to destroy them both, so Scáthach’s daughter Uathach went to the Sligachan River and pleaded with the fairies to help her mother. The fairy queen appeared to her and instructed her to wash her face in the river if she wanted to save her mother’s life. Uathach followed the instructions and created a feast of such magnificence that the warriors suspended fighting to have this meal. Sitting down eating together created such mutual respect that they were able to call it a draw and a truce were called. Uathach left behind a bit of magic in the river as well – if you submerge your face completely into its water for 7 seconds and allow it to dry naturally, the fairies will bless you with eternal beauty.

The world does not move through time as if it were a straight line, proceeding from the past to the future. Instead time moves through and within us, in endless spirals. Eternity does not mean infinite time, but simply timelessness. ~Elif Safak

...stancami

e parlami

abbracciami

fruga dentro le mie tasche

poi perdonami

sorridi

guarda questo tempo

che arriva con te

guarda quanto tempo

arriva con te.

Although the wind was screaming in my ears, it was a scene of serenity and breathtaking majesty. As the sun set, the radiating sky turned a beautiful pink, while humid ocean air turned into clouds at the distant coastal mountain peaks. Cape Point Nature Reserve, South Africa.

This post is dedicated to the victims of the horrible Las Vegas massacre and their families:

May the eternal light be with you!

Pray for Vegas

The sea has no country either, and it belongs to all those who listen to it, here and there where the sun rises and dies.

A quick break from landscape photos. There is a long standing tradition in Poland that each year on November 1 (and also extending into the next day) people visit local cemeteries throughout the day to pay respects to and commemorate friends and family members that have passed away over the years. It is called All Saints' Day or it is sometimes referred to as Day of the Dead.

In 2019 I was fortunate to experience this moving and spiritual event for the first time in thirty years. We visited the Rakowicki Cemetery in Krakow to pay our respects and to breath in some of that solemn atmosphere of eternal peace.

It is in the evening when the spiritual atmosphere is especially present, once dusk takes over and the warm glow of thousands of candles can be seen hovering over the graves. On that day there were also a chill and a touch of fog in the air that made the mood even more ethereal.

I have not had many opportunities to use my new camera since I bought it before Christmas. So I walked around my village with my 7 year old son (and his Canon camera) and took some shots. I decided to go out of my comfort zone and take a few cemetery shots.

9/11 -We will never forget all sacrifices of first responders, families and loved ones of those who perished at the hands of savages and still bear the deeply rooted emotional & physical scars.

And as CENTCOM Commander Gen. Kenneth McKenzie praised the Taliban for being "helpful, useful, businesslike and pragmatic" during the evacuation where 13 US military personnel died & hundreds were critically wounded on August 26th; let us remember it was Taliban who sheltered al Qaedas Osama bin Laden & his henchmen after the attack of 9/11 of course, till they slithered over to Pakistan to hide.

Where were you...

Lyrics by Alan Jackson

"Where were you when the world stopped turnin' that September day? Were you in the yard with your wife and children Or workin' on some stage in L.A.?

Did you stand there in shock at the sight of that black smoke

Risin' against that blue sky? Did you shout out in anger, in fear for your neighbor Or did you just sit down and cry?

Did you weep for the children, they lost their dear loved ones

Pray for the ones who don't know?

Did you rejoice for the people who walked from the rubble

And sob for the ones left below? Did you burst out with pride for the red, white, and blue And the heroes who died just doin' what they do?

Did you look up to heaven for some kind of answer and look at yourself and what really matters?

I'm just a singer of simple songs, I'm not a real political man

I watch CNN, but I'm not sure I can tell you the diff'rence in Iraq and Iran. But I know Jesus and I talk to God

And I remember this from when I was young,

Faith, hope, and love are some good things He gave us

And the greatest is love

Where were you when the world stopped turnin' that September day? Teachin' a class full of innocent children

Or drivin' down some cold interstate? Did you feel guilty 'cause you're a survivor? In a crowded room did you feel alone? Did you call up your mother and tell her you love her?

Did you dust off that Bible at home?

Did you open your eyes and hope it never happened

Close your eyes and not go to sleep? Did you notice the sunset for the first time in ages and speak to some stranger on the street? Did you lay down at night and think of tomorrow, g o out and buy you a gun? Did you turn off that violent old movie you're watchin' And turn on I Love Lucy reruns?

Did you go to a church and hold hands with some strangers

Stand in line to give your own blood? Did you just stay home and cling tight to your family & Thank God you had somebody to love"
