Orthodox congregation in Valmiera was established in the 1920s, when many Russian merchants, craftsmen and soldiers settled in the city. In Vidzeme in general, the conversion of Latvian farmers to Orthodoxy is widespread, both under the general policy of Russification and hoping to acquire land in this way.

The construction of the new Valmiera Orthodox church began in 1877 and was completed in December 1878. Its author is the first academically educated Latvian architect Jānis Frīdrihs Baumanis (1834–1891). The church was consecrated on May 16, 1879. The church was built of torn gray boulders. Eaves, corners and cornices are made of red locally made bricks. Next to the church is the Mengden family chapel - a mausoleum (built in 1903). A new iron fence was built around the chapel, on stone poles and on a stone foundation. The money, 2000 rubles, was given for the construction of the fence by Count George Mengden's son Georgy Mengden. On November 9th, 1903, in the presence of Dmitry Muraveisk, a clergyman of the Church of St. Sergey of Radonezh, took the coffin of Count George Mengden's father with ashes from the Lutheran chapel to the chapel of the Orthodox church. Inside it, on the east wall, a marble slab with an inscription was fastened and the symbol "Resurrection" was placed in a special niche.

First established as the British capital of India, New Delhi is today the center of the national government of India. Besides the government buildings and embassies, there are many monuments and green spaces. Almost all of the many traffic circles have monuments and extensive landscaping such as this one. Most of the streets are also lined with trees and gardens. In fact, greenery is everywhere along the major roads of greater Delhi as well as vivid murals decorating highway infrastructure. As India has prospered, a big movement is underway to build out the needed infrastructure.

Seen in the arboretum in Rogów :)

The Rogów Arboretum, established in 1925, is the Station of Protection and Shaping of Forest Ecosystems. It covers an area of 54 ha and is of an exceptional character as compared with other centers of the type in Poland or Europe, because it has been built from the very beginning as a research – didactic object and, moreover, it was located in the forest and has been tightly connected with the forest experimental study from the moment of its origin. The Arboretum consists of three basic parts: the dendrological collections (about 22 ha), the forest experimental plots (about 18 ha) and the alpine garden (1.5 ha).

The dendrological collections that is tree and shrub individuals planted either separately or in groups or small area forms, are mainly concentrated in the central and southern part of the Arboretum, covering a total of 2350 species and varieties. The Arboretum’s specialty is its collection of maples and shrubs from China. This segment is managed naturally, having the look of more a forest park than a typical botanical garden. The trees give the shelter and the proper microclimate for the introduced trees and shrubs.

W rogowskim alpinarium można obejrzeć ponad 400 gatunków i odmian roślin, pochodzących z gór całego świata. W większości są to byliny, ale nie tylko. Rosną tu także krzewy i drzewa terenów górzystych, np. majestatyczne świerki serbskie, kształtne limby czy srebrzyste jodły kalifornijskie.

Isotta Fraschini quickly established a reputation for innovation and high-quality craftsmanship. Its legacy is often attributed to its eight-cylinder luxury cars built during the 1920s, but it was many years earlier that the company forged its reputation for motor racing. Leading the charge in the engineering department was Giustino Cattaneo who developed the Tipo I Corsa in 1907, which competed at the Coppa Florio that year and emerged victoriously. A year later, in modified form, it won the Targa Florio. Following these victories, Isotta Fraschini designed a high-performance, lightweight, road-going car called the Tipo FE Voiturette. Several high-horsepower models followed and were particularly popular with U.S.-based enthusiasts.

The United States market was important to Isotta Fraschini and they made considerable efforts to promote their cars, most often through racing endeavors. In 1908, placed second in the Vanderbilt Cup, and were victorious in several other events including the Briarcliff Trophy, Savannah Trophy, and the Lowell Cup. In preparation for the Indianapolis 500, Isotta Fraschini Motor Co. of New York commissioned the Tipo IM. Six examples were built in the spring of 1913, wearing designs inspired by the KM and TM models.

The Isotta Fraschini Tipo IM was powered by an aircraft-inspired overhead cam, a 16-valve engine with a revised bore and stroke ratio, and a displacement size of 7,238 cubic centimeters. Its 7.2-liter displacement allowed it to comply with the limit set for American racing events. The 135 horsepower produced at 2,350 RPM was sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual gearbox. Another advanced feature was the four-wheel braking system. The suspension was comprised of a solid front and a live rear axle with semi-elliptical leaf springs all around.

As production was winding down, production was delayed due to a strike at the factory. Despite the setbacks, the factory was able to fulfill its American contracts. The cars were sent to Le Havre, France, and loaded onto the Lusitania on April 29th. They arrived in New York on May 24th and were sent to Indianapolis by express train, just in time to participate in qualifying sessions.

The 1913 Indianapolis 500 was the third year of the event, and it was the substantial monetary rewards that attracted U.S. and European factory-backed teams. The Isotta Fraschini team had the most modern and sophisticated machinery that they were capable of producing, and the lineup of drivers was equally impressive, consisting of Targa Florio winner Vincenzo Trucco, American racer 'Terrible' Teddy Tetzlaff, and two-time Vanderbilt Cup winner Harry Grant. Ray Gilhooley was hired as the relief driver, and he was lent a Tipo KM, which he drove prior to the start of the race in exhibition laps.

In the end, it was the lack of preparation and fine-tuning that proved to be the Achilles Heel of the Tipo IM's effort, having been prepared during the midst of the labor strike. The demise of all three cars was attributed to minor mechanical issues, with Grant leaving on Lap 14 due to a split gas tank. Trucco had the same issue but his car held up to Lap 39 before he bowed out of the race. Tetzlaff's carried the torch for Isotta Fraschini through lap 118 when a broken drive chain ended his day.

The car driven by Tetzlaff returned to Indianapolis 500 a year later and was entrusted to Ray Gilhooley. On Lap 41, the Isotta suffered a tire blowout in Turn 3, which ensnared the drive chain. The car spun wildly and ejected the driver and riding mechanic in the process, eventually coming to a stop on tires in the infield.

In many ways, these were the end and pinnacle of an era, and at the same time gave a glimpse into the future. The chain drive system was archaic and the front wheel brakes were thoroughly modern. Had they not succumbed to mechanical issues, it would have been interesting how history would have recorded their accomplishments at Indy.

At the beginning of the 14. century. was established the Catholic parish church Saint Dionysius as a westphalian hall church by three ships.

The cross ribs of the vaults are summarised by figurative and ornamentalen keystones.

In the choral vault 1968 remains of the original painting were exposed. The massive west tower with round arch and romanesque sound holes belongs to the romanesque predecessor's church of the twelfth century.

It is the only building that remained intact. It is a medieval ecclesiastical chapel from around 1470 established by Hentel, a citizen of the town. It has a gothic, single nave. During the Turkish time the chapel had been used as a mosque. Count Nádasdy László had its ridge turret built in the 18th century and the baroque altar as well. Its original altarpiece can be seen in the Diocesan Museum of Székesfehérvár.

The Monastery at Lébény was established between 1199 and 1203, by a nobleman, for private worship. The complex was dedicated to the Apostle Saint James the Great. Though the existing charter for approving the donations and construction was signed by Andreas II (1208), one of the walls of the church had “1206” engraved in them, which may indicate that the church was already built at that time. It is also mentioned in the RegestrumVaradiense (an important language memorial), which was made in the late cathedral chapter of the present Oradea (Nagyvárad) in the 13th century. The monastery of Lébény was attacked and burnt down several times; the first by Mongols, then the second by King Ottokar I of Bohemia; and thereafter by the Turks, which was probably in 1529 and definitely in 1683. The monastery was taken back from the Turks by the arch-abbot of Pannonhalma in 1540. He named a new abbot, though the title only existed on paper for a little bit longer than two decades. In 1563 the monastery was burnt down again for the third time and was left devoured. Presently, the only part of the complex that is still standing is the iconic three-nave Romanesque church in the middle of Lébény village. This church is one of the most important Romanesque style buildings of Hungary, which was most probably restored in the 17th century by the Jesuits, and it was the first ever Hungarian monument that was restored in the second half of the 19th century. In addition, the Romanesque church is also operating as a parish of the village.

Established in 1966, the Coorong National Park is a spectacular saline lagoon stretching 140km along the south east coast of South Australia. The National Park is separated from the Southern Ocean by sand dunes of the Younghusband Peninsula, and is internationally significant under the Ramsar agreement as a migratory wader and waterfowl refuge.

I drove across salt flats that lay between the coast and the dunes. The salt flats are sometimes submerged, the road is nothing more than a path across the salt bed. Four wheel drive vehicles can traverse the salt flat all year round, the road is marked with red topped posts, without which the landscape is featureless.

The Coorong is a wonderland of bird life and unique vegetation. I took this shot on the road crossing the salt flats.

A lighthouse was established at Cape Liptrap in 1913 to improve the safety of coastal shipping along the tricky waters of Bass Strait. It was a 2.1 metre steel tower with an acetylene light. .

In 1951 the steel tower was dismantled and replaced with the current structure. As a keeper was never stationed at Cape Liptrap, it is really the first automatic Commonwealth funded light to be put into service.

The current lighthouse was built in 1951 in cast concrete, and is octagonal in shape.

It was converted to mains power in 1970.The light is still in operation and has a range of 18 nautical miles (over 34 kilometres).

The fattest and most scrumptious of all flowers, a rare fusion of fluff and majesty, the peony is now coming into bloom. –Henry Mitchell, American writer (1923-93).

Peonies are outrageously beautiful in bloom, with lush foliage all summer long. These perennials may live longer than you do—some have been known to thrive for 100 years. The plants require little maintenance as long as they are planted properly and establish themselves; they do not respond well to transplanting. www.almanac.com/plant/peonies

Established in 1101.

Florence, AZ, established 1866, has started a restoration process to become an artesian community and spring back to life. Old buildings are being renovated and new ones are built with old West architecture. There is a long way to go though as this building sits just one block off Main Street, which is the center of town.

Established on 16 April 1912 and opened on 19 March 1914, the museum has maintained close relations with the University of Toronto throughout its history, often sharing expertise and resources.[2] The museum was under the direct control and management of the University of Toronto until 1968, when it became an independent institution.

Established around A.D. 972, Esztergom has always played an important role in Hungary's history. It was the birth and coronation place of the first Hungarian king, St. Stephen, as well as the capital of Hungary until the 13th century. Esztergom is the seat of the Hungarian Catholic Church and home to the Basilica of Esztergom, a masterpiece of Classicism and the third largest church in Europe.

Established on the site of a medieval hospital which supported Arbroath Abbey, Hospitalfield is a beautiful, peaceful place to visit. The house was the vision of 19th Century artist Patrick Allan Fraser and his wife, Elizabeth, and their legacy lives on in the support of artists, craftspeople, and in the walled garden. In the foreground is the bronze sculpture ‘Rio’ by Scottish artist Eduardo Paolozzi - on loan until 2027 from the Hunterian in Glasgow.

Established in 1880, the Taiping Lake Garden is one of the oldest garden in Malaysia. The huge lake was formerly a tin mine but was since transformed into a beautiful well used and well maintained park where flowers, birds, insects, animals and lush greenery thrive.

Yarchen Monastery (tib ཡ་ཆེན་སྒར་ wylie ya chen sgar) lies 400 km west of Chengdu in Sichuan province in China, in the old Tibetan province of Kham. It is reported to have 10 000 monks and nuns, making it possibly the largest monastery in the world. Larung Gar is even larger, but is considered a monastic encampment rather than a monastery. Most of the inhabitants are nuns. It was established in 1985.

Many monks and nuns came to Yarchen Gar when Larung Gar was partly demolished in 2001

The abbot, Achuk Rinpoche is one of the seniormost Nyingma masters in Tibet and he practices mainly Dzogchen. He teaches in both Tibetan and Chinese language and attracts students from all over China.

Due to Chinese restrictions on religious practice most of the monks and nuns are not officially recognized and live in fear of being thrown out. Monks are not allowed to enter the nuns' quarters on the West side of the river.

Due to the remoteness of the institute and the bad condition of roads leading there, Yarchen Gar sees very few tourists. In the past years officials have often prevented foreigners from entering the institute or staying there overnight. Tourist guides will not take foreigners to the nuns' side of the river even though there are no legal or real cultural reasons against that. There is a simple hotel and restaurant next to the gate.

----------------------------- JESUS ✝️ SAVES-------------------------------

SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST - ALONE!

12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."

❤️❤️ IT'S ALL JESUS AND NONE OF OURSELVES! ❤️❤️

16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the SALVATION of everyone WHO BELIEVES: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel a RIGHTEOUSNESS FROM GOD IS REVEALED, a righteousness that is by FAITH FROM FIRST TO LAST, just as it is written: "THE RIGHTEOUS WILL LIVE BY FAITH." (Romans 1:16-17)

16 KNOW that a man is NOT justified by observing the law, but by FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be JUSTIFIED BY FAITH in CHRIST and NOT by observing the law, BECAUSE BY OBSERVING THE LAW NO ONE WILL BE JUSTIFIED. (Galatians 2:16)

1. Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2. BY THIS GOSPEL YOU ARE SAVED, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.

3. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4. that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5. and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8. and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

9. For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11. Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed. (1 Corinthians 15:1-11)

7. Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9. I am the gate; whoever enters through me WILL BE SAVED. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10. The thief comes only to STEAL and KILL and DESTROY; I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the FULL. (John 10:7-10)

1 Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. 2 For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. 3 Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. 4 Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.

5 Moses describes in this way the righteousness that is by the law: "The man who does these things will live by them." 6 But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'" (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 "or 'Who will descend into the deep?'" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:1-13)

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!

So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

Union Pacific established trackage rights on the Rio Grande main line between Lakota Junction (Orem, Utah) and Grant Tower (Salt Lake City, Utah) in November 1985.

After that, UP trains rarely crossed the 4,812 ft. summit at Point of the Mountain bordering I-15. A rare exception was on Jan. 15, 1990, when UP dispatched the LUC51 local via the old Provo Main.

UP 861 and 2036 are pictured ascending the 1.14% grade, approaching Timpanogos Highway in what is now the Silicon Slopes business park north of Lehi, Utah. These rails are gone now, although the old right of way is owned by Utah Transit Authority for a proposed light rail transit line.

Established in 1897, the Renmark Hotel has always been and continues to be owned by the community of Renmark. The Hotel is run under a Board of Management, with profits from its operations being reinvested back into the facility for refurbishment / improvements and a portion distributed back into the community through sponsorship of local events, clubs and other requests.

The grand hotel has accumulated an incredible history which you can now explore through the Museum, located on the first floor of the main building. The Renmark Hotel was noted as the first community owned hotel in the British Commonwealth and at one point, housed the longest bar in the British Empire!

Marshall Batteries, established in 1935, have been servicing Customers for over 80 years. The history of Marshall Batteries is long and distinguished.

Not only did Marshall pioneer roadside battery delivery, in 1963, just 28 years after the foundation of Marshall Batteries, Marshall Introduced another industry first; television advertising.

Marshall ‘Matt’ came alive and the slogan ‘Holler for a Marshall!’ was created, and the iconic ‘Train Crossing Advertisement’ was born.
