Of the many fantastic and delightful people I met during the Dublin Gay Pride, celebrations this couple were by far the most entertaining and outspoken. Protesting that same sex marriages are not recognised they were wearing both half of the same tuxedo to demonstrate their anger at the state for not being recognised. never got their names, which is a shame as I think this is a nice picture of them and would like to pass it along. The individual on the left was the guy with the Great Tattoo I show earlier in my Photostream. If you know them tell them get in touch for a copy.

No on Proposition 8 protest march down Broadway in New York City tonight.
The march started at 65th and Columbus in front of the Manhattan Mormon Temple (across from Lincoln Center) and made its way down Broadway to Columbus Circle.
Several thousand demonstrators spoke out against the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for the active role it played in passing California's Proposition 8, a constitutional amendment that overturns a state Supreme Court decision in May which legalized same-sex unions.
"Hatred has no place in society and it has no place in state constitutions," said Corey Johnson, co-organizer of the protest.
"Proposition 8 robs the LGBT (an initialism referring collectively to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender/transsexual people) community of its dignity and equality as American citizens," he said. "While human rights activists in California work to overturn this shameful amendment, we here in New York protest in solidarity with them, and we will work to ensure that a similar law never happens here."
The Manhattan demonstration follows on the heels of protests in California that began last week after the passage of Prop. 8. Tensof thousands of people have marched through San Francisco, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, San Diego and many other cities.
A national day of protest is planned for Saturday, organized byJoin the Impact.
More than 18,000 gay and lesbian couples have reportedly tied the knot in California since June 17.
New York State Governor David Paterson issued a directive in May requiring state agencies to recognize same-sex marriages performed elsewhere.

Stuart holding up two albums from 1978, the Clash and Rod Stewart. Now Rod Stewart is there as a contrast to what the Clash were producing and was put down and thankfully remained unplayed!! Stuart talked about protest music and its roots with a lil discussion at the end about the way forward. What place for protest songs in this day and age when artists don't want to make waves and want a big signing on fee to be a labelled artist.
Tho not well attended it was a very enlightening and well spent hour. From Curtis Mayfield to the Staple singers to Dylan to Woodie Guthrie to Bob Marley and the Specials. Music has long been used as a means of protest and putting a message across.
The sad conclusion was that a downloadable ringtone "Fuck Racists" would probably be the only way to break through the commodification of artists
