Corners and edging triangles to go. Don't think I would ever have the patience to do a quilt this way though.

Epping station on 2 June 1986 with two trains formed of Central Line 1962 stock. These units were built by Metro-Cammell and ran on the Central Line until replaced by 1992 stock. The last trains of 1962 stock ran on the Central Line on 17 February 1995. Most units of this type were scrapped, but 15 units were transferred to the Northern Line. These units lasted on the Northern Line until November 1999.

Bit of a gloomy afternoon but the colours are getting better. Between Epping and Theydon

On the 30th September 2018, the Epping - Chatswood Rail Link (ECRL) was closed to be converted to a "Metro" as part of the Sydney Metro project, a driverless train system running from Tallawong, near Riverstone, to Sydenham, with plans to extend to Bankstown.

Seen operating the diesel service on the Epping Ongar Railway is this Class 117/121 combination.

Nearest to the camera is 51384 and this vehicle is a Pressed Steel Class 117 DMS (Driving Motor Standard) owned by the EOR and was previously on the Lavender Line roster. At the other end is W56287 which is a Pressed Steel Class 121 DTS (Driving Trailer Standard) dating from 1961 owned by Pressed Steel Heritage and is loan to the EOR from the Colne Valley Railway. This vehicle is one of 10 Class 121 trailer vehicles built to work with Class 121 'Bubble Car' units. This example was one of two to be fitted with a corridor connection at one end by British Rail in 1988.

Epping forest. Still not quite there, another couple of weeks.

Finally got out and shot some colours. Around the Ambresbury banks.

8-11-25. Sydney trains operated & preserved Comeng S set S28 is spotted as it begins to slowly make its way into Epping on run 888B as it ventures further North to Cowan on the HET 'Cowburgh' tour.

The consist for the run is as follows:

S28

-C3986

-T4013

This leads to the Epping Ongar Railway (not a direct route), which incidentally has a station known as Blake Hall, famed for being the least used one on the network in it's decline, with all but six passengers a day giving it patronage!

I can't remember exactly whereabouts in Epping Forest this was. I used to walk there quite frequently when I lived in the Romford area in east London. Taken in October 1997 with a Bronica ETRS rollfilm camera. 2515_120B203_03.jpg
