From May 11–21, students, faculty, sponsors, and organizers are gathering across Detroit and Ypsilanti, Michigan, for the EcoCAR EV Challenge Year 4 Competition and series finale. The event marks the culmination of a four-year journey that has challenged 13 North American teams to reengineer the 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ and showcase the future of advanced propulsion systems and Connected and Automated Vehicle (CAV) technologies.
Throughout the competition, teams are putting their reengineered vehicles through rigorous testing at the GM Milford Proving Ground, competing in dynamic evaluations including the Connected Driving Evaluation (CoDE), CAV Lateral Feature Evaluation, and Consumer Ride and Drive Event. Teams are also taking their innovations onto the streets of Detroit, demonstrating their technologies in real-world driving environments before concluding activities at the Hudson's Detroit, General Motors global headquarters.
Stage Two in Ypsilanti features Sponsor Judged Events, Subteam Presentations, networking opportunities, and celebrations recognizing the collaboration between students, industry leaders, and faculty advisors. The series will conclude on May 21 with the EcoCAR Vehicle Showcase and Year 4 Awards Ceremony, where teams will compete for $100,000 in sponsor-provided prize money while celebrating the innovation, dedication, and achievements that have defined the EcoCAR EV Challenge.

We often bring along a portion of this 6'x6' enclosure for them to have a place to play. It depends entirely on the rental. This would be great, for example, at a beach house with a nice paved place underneath.

Conservation International (CI) enables civil society groups in biodiversity hotspots to conserve their resources and influence the decisions that affect lives and livelihoods -- and, ultimately, the global environment -- for the benefit of us all. As a founding partner of the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund, CI has supported nearly 1,600 civil society organizations working to protect more than half of the world's biodiversity hotspots -- and more than 1,000 of the most vulnerable and endangered species on the planet.

These are crazy natural soundscape records. They have kind of a 70's, spiritual, post-hippie, mature pot-head vibe.
This photograph was an just an example of me experimenting, however I think it has turned out to be quite a successful photograph as the dandelion is so in focus, therefore stands out from the background. I think this could also link well to theme of Environments for my A2 work as the subject is only a simple weed in it's natural environment, however after being photographed, it appears to stand out more.

Chief executives of 100 Global Compact Network Thailand (GCNT) companies have pledged to accelerate solutions tackling climate and biodiversity losses, which they agreed are an existential crisis threatening the resource base of the global economy. The same threat will be of focus for COP27 discussions in Egypt and COP15 in Canada this year.
Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has commended the UN team in Thailand led by Resident Coordinator Gita Sabharwal as a principal partner amid the grim backdrop of the triple planetary crisis, advancing ecological restoration and sustainable economic growth in all dimensions—with UNIDO, UNEP and UNHABITAT bringing their expertise in low-carbon technologies, waste management and energy markets; and UNDP and UNESCO promoting sustainable tourism, the creative economy as well as protection of habitats and endangered species.
The Global Compact Network Thailand Forum 2022, co-hosted with the UN team in Thailand, took place as the country prepares for both COP27 in Egypt and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit 2022 in Thailand this month. A key agenda Thailand will be pushing forward with world leaders is the protection of biodiversity and the steering of efforts to tackle the climate crisis.
