I just bought a Nikon Coolpix S3100, as I need a digital camera for times when I don't want to lug around my Canon DSLR, I found this camera on Futureshop's website on sale for pretty cheap so decided to buy it.

What do I think? Compared to my old Canon SD1000 digital camera, it is even thinner than that. The Nikon S3100 has a very cheap plasticy feel to it, although I read reviews that it's aluminum body - certainly plastic. It's pretty slow to start up, slow for taking photos. It's generally slow, my old SD1000 was better than this camera. The SD1000 was generally just much better as it had a nice metal frame, the options were simple to amateurs and beginners, while for the Nikon, it takes alot just to change ISO, you actually have to go into the settings and change ISO for each setting - pretty annoying.

For macro, it has alot of trouble trying to focus (and locking) onto the photo, but fiddling around for a few minutes eventually fixes that. I tried taking a photo of the iPhone screen and it had trouble focusing until I changed to a different "Macro Scene", then it was clear. The photos are a bit too soft, as I've read in reviews, but for what I need it for - possibly taking outdoors photos when I'm in a rush, it will do the job.

For some shots, I feel that my iPhone may actually take better photos than this camera, but I guess we'll wait and see over time.

I rate this a 2/5.

What do I like about it? Compact feel, was only $130, lots of "Scenes" for different things (ie macro, outdoors, pets, etc),

What do I hate about it? Too plasticy of a feel, LCD screen is incredibly fragile, it has problems focusing in on photos, you need to play around with menues alot for what you need. I guess you get what you pay for!

Opening with an environmental portrait I took before I began my current level 3 course, this was a mock portrait of a local girl by the local graffiti board, associating her with it. It was during the golden hour which gave us some nice lighting and I have used the rule-of-thirds nicely in the key subject and the background subject.

Through hard work and dedication, America and YOU reach the sky one floor at a time.

The Pentax ME had already been billed as "the easiest" of all the company's SLRs. But evidently its marketers felt a need for something even cheaper and less intimidating, which became the Pentax MV.

Let's be honest that this autoexposure-only model was distinctly crippled, as the copy obliquely acknowledges. Pentax would update the ME into the ME Super as the model for those who wanted to take over manual exposure from time to time.

It's a curious marketing question of how many buyers actually wanted (or knew what to do with) interchangeable lenses on a body that was otherwise a point & shoot.

People have not seen much of the Sony Xperia Neo L since it was to begin with stated for the Chinese market back in March. However right now the tiny ICS-powered mobile has indeed emerged in the physical nature on Taiwanese site ePrice, where it’s been snapped from numerous positions and also contrasted to a current Sony smartphone, the Xperia P.

Built as Ferrari's entry level supercar, the F355 followed the 308, 328 and 348 as a cheaper alternative to their V12 models. Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo encouraged the design, engineering and marketing teams at Ferrari to create something entirely new, exciting and completely different from the 348.

The resultant F355 was a major hit: its full body under tray was highlighted as a performance benchmark upon release and orders piled in faster than Ferrari could fill them. Press reviews were favorable and generally appreciated the 25% percent increase in horsepower, as well as Pininfarina's gracious styling.

The model numbers shown in this ad (from Max Wirgin's company) are not how collectors know them today.

The distinction between the upper two models is between the original Exa (with the script nameplate) and the restyled version Exa I. Both have very restricted top shutter speeds.

The Exa II series all had non-removable pentaprisms and a more conventional focal-plane shutter reaching 1/250th sec.

Oddities common to all include the plump body style, the take-up spools being removable, the shutter release is on the "wrong" side, and a reflex mirror which blacks out after each exposure until the film is advanced again.

The Exa series originated in 1951 as a simpler alternative to the premium-priced Exakta. The Exa II was a reboot which now has a non-removable pentaprism rather than an increasingly dated-feeling waist-level viewing hood.

Note that the Bronxville, New York, address is the same as Caspeco, home of Max WIrgin's enterprises after fleeing his family's camera company in pre-WWII Germany.

One of the excessively energetic stewards at Banksy's Dismaland.

No matter how hard you try, it's almost impossible to get anything apart from "welcome to Dismaland" and "end joy". However, every now and then they struggle to hold a big laugh too.

Sony amazed each person when they stated the Xperia miro and also the surprises maintain coming – the business also revealed the entry-level ICS droids called Sony Xperia tipo as well as tipo dual. Just what’s different concerning the Xperia tipo twin is that it’s the company’s 1st dual-SIM gadget.

The Xperia tipo is a compact phone (103 x 57 x THIRTEEN mm, 99.4 g) and presents a 3.2″ HVGA TFT screen with scratch-resistant mineral glass. It might run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich at launch, as well as is powered by an 800MHz processor chip (Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7225AA chipset).

The phone has the basics – a 3.2 MP video camera, 2.9 GB of integral memory (extensible by a microSD card), 3.5 mm audio jack, microUSB slot and a 1500mAh electric battery. On the connection edge, there’s HSPA-enabled 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS.

RIC09-T - Hi-Q Instrument Cable - 1x0,22mm2

RECOMMENDED FOR those taking their first steps in studying a musical instrument, who wish to appreciate all the innate tone qualities it possesses. The RIC09-T cable takes full advantage of the economical value of the instrument used, as well as a day to day apprenticeship. Created for frequent use it is also very flexible and solidly built. The RIC09-T has a double shield: an exclusive braid in red and tinned copper and a second in a PVC conductor, ideal for avoiding noises generated by energetic cable movements. Thanks to our collaborations with important music schools as Berklee College of Music (Boston USA) and Saint Louis College of Music (Rome), we were pleased to witness the surprise and sheer joy expressed by teachers and students alike, in discovering the importance of “listening and choosing” a cable which best fits their instrument and musical taste.

In order to encourage this remarkable and understandable interest expressed by teachers and students, we strongly recommend a direct and autonomous method to test out our RIC09-T.

1) Select any cable (your usual one or another) and connect your instrument to the amplifier.

2) Choose your most personal and distinctive sound, and perform a brief chord arpeggio.

3) Play it a few times until you have the sound of the chord clear in your mind and ears.

4) Substitute the cable with our RIC09-T, making sure that it is the same length as the first, and repeat the same chord, with the same dynamic and obviously without modifying the amplifier parameters.

5) Play it one more time, so that you also have this new sound clear in your mind and ears.

At this stage, it is already possible to single out the difference between an “ordinary cable”and RIC09T,

6) Repeat all the above procedures, using the first cable and then the RIC09-T.

“talk about rugby/cricket photography and show interviewer the news “

To improve my skills, I began photographing local sports, which I thought was a good idea with summer coming and an Olympics being held. This image was taken on top of the Pennines near my hometown during a big race called the Tour of Tameside that involved road and fell running. I like this image as I shows an older runner leading the rest of the runners. There is leading space for the direction of the runners, and the slow decrease in size of each runner as they get further away acts as a leading line.

You must already be aware that Volkswagen is working on a B segment crossover. It will be built over the MQB platform and will be a sort of Polo SUV. And there is even a concept that anticipates it, the T-Cross. And a vehicle that has precisely the same architecture, the Audi Q2. The big news...

Canon's own national advertising on page 25 of this Popular Photography issue still shows the TLb for sale. But several of the fine-print advertisers in the back pages are already listing its (barely different) successor, the Canon TX.

Is it any wonder that a TEXAS retailer would want to offer a camera called "TX" as early as it could?

Testing out the Nikon S3100 again, quality wise, comparable to my iPhone 3G.

"Oh, That Miranda!" I am concerned that these two are about to flunk their motorcycle safety class.

Also, the silly cheesecake wants to distract us from the reality that, far from being "modern," the Miranda 'S' is already 5 years behind the times.

I've had lots of friends ask me about the Brandon flood, and I haven't posted any pics yet, so I finally took a few while testing out the Nikon Coolpix S3100, as you can tell, the photos aren't great, and the flooding is receding.
