Talkeetna was one of my favorite towns on my Alaska travels. Denali and the Alaska Range rises majestically in the distance while 3 major rivers meet here (the Susitna, Chulitna and Talkeetna). This is where most climbers and aerial viewers take off for the their Denali adventure.

For those who enjoyed the old TV series Northern Exposure, Talkeetna was the town the show was based on. However, it was filmed in Roslyn WA.

I'm grateful for the visit, faves and comments in my photo.

This is the courtyard of the old police headquarter in Frankfurt which was abandoned about 20 years ago. For the first 10 years, it was used as an occasional party and event location. The last 10 years, it was simply a lost place. Now, an investor bought the lot for 230 million Euro. Until the construction work starts, it is used for various events again like the lost place photo tour I booked.

Entering the temple grounds at the Shingon Buddhist temple Gokoku-ji in Tokyo. The temple dates back to 1681 and is quite uncommon in Tokyo to have survived up to the present day - through the Meiji restoration, the big Kanto earthquake and the World War II bombings.

It really is a quite lovely place to walk around, well worth a visit (just remove your shoes before entering the main hall and put your camera away - but just there).

Colmar is one of these towns that get far more than their share of tourists.You'll be hard-pressed to find locals on the streets of the old town. But the reasons are obvious. It's a beautiful medieval town.

Directly across the Missouri River from the MRL SD70ACe locomotives is a small portion of abandoned right-of-way of Milwaukee Road’s Pacific Extension that follows the MRL along the river here.

The ship Baden, from Bregenz Austria, enters the port of Lindau. Lindau is a German city and an island in Lake Constance (Bodensee). In this lake there are borders of Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

This is an afternoon shot, taken at Propylaea of Acropolis. It's amazing how the sunlight of a setting sun plays hide and seek with the structure, revealing its timeless nature!

Our trail led us through a tall stand of trees laden with snow.
