The wind simply would not stop. At 1/1000 it still took many shots before I could get a focused one.
The enigmatic and very present Puma, Viktoria... loving that position she held.. Photographed with awe at the Big Cat Sanctuary, Kent
Atara (North Chinese Leopard) holds the record for having the longest whiskers of all the big cats at the Big Cat Sanctuary.
The Enigmatic Golden Plover, the Jewel of the Pennine Hills & Moors, with its sad mournful call that seems to echo the wildness and desolation of this beautiful landscape.
I was able to get incredibly close today to this beautiful bird in the Yorkshire Dales.
A large enigmatic owl of bogs, meadows, and coniferous forest. This rare and sought-after species is most often seen hunting around dawn and dusk, when it perches silently at the edges of clearings. Feeds mainly on voles. When vole populations crash, Great Grays can be found in large numbers south of their usual northern haunts, especially in winter. Yellow eyes and white bow-tie pattern on neck separate Great Gray from Barred. Its deep hoots are rarely heard.

Kodaikanal is one of my favorite places that are most picturesque and beautiful. My visit there was very memorable and gave me some of my best photos. This man I saw standing outside a Hindu temple. He drew my attention immediately. He had wrapped himself in a shawl and his head with a muffler. He was stoic. His eyes so blank, unblinking, unmoved and almost eerie. His sunken cheeks, gray eyebrows and beard revealing his years of endurance. He stood like a statue though surrounded by so much hustle and bustle around the temple.

Happy Caturday
This special Caturday, our group is celebrating memories of the wonderful cats that have shared their lives with us.
Eddie was possibly the most beautiful cat I have ever known. He came here quite suddenly, climbing the apple tree outside the kitchen window so he could be noticed. One look at his amazing beauty was all it took to steal our hearts.
We fed Eddie every morning and evening for a couple of years. He would not allow us to approach him and remained very aloof and standoffish.
I remember the last time I ever saw this wonderful cat. He stopped and looked back over his shoulder at me. I was able to capture this in a photo. Heartbreakingly, we never saw him again or knew what happened to him.

No particular subject here - this image is about the playful impression of light and colour. It's hard to know where the dreamy foliage begins and ends but the the sun and blue sky reflection in the still pond gives the image a central stability. It was taken at Consall nature Park - a piece of what is called 'The Heron Pond, there was just something about the way the afternoon light fell across the water that I really liked, I hope that comes across..

The Fungiidae are a family of Cnidaria, often known as mushroom corals. The family contains thirteen extant genera. They range from solitary corals to colonial species. Wikipedia
I'll give you the answer after the end of the theme.
Brúarfoss viewed in the early morning just before the first rays of sun hit the rims of the falls. Its isolation and enigmatic blue water makes Brúarfoss a favorite of many visitors to Iceland who manage to figure out how to get there. (A recent report from a regional Icelandic newspaper suggests the trails to the falls have been closed by private landowners, though the number of Flickr posts of the falls does not seem to have dropped off).
The amazing blue color of the water is associated with glacial sediment which shows up best in the deeper portions of the falls, though I suspect some elves or trolls are involved. The web (admittedly one of the most unreliable sources of accurate info outside of the White House) suggests that the majority of Icelanders believe in, or at least will not deny the existence of, elves and trolls. Personally I am with them after seeing much of the Icelandic landscape.
The Brúará River is the second largest river in Iceland, originating in the mountain valleys not far from Brúarfoss. In its lower reaches it is renowned for its excellent fishing. "Brúará" means bridge in Icelandic, here referring to a natural bridge that used to span the river. The bridge was purportedly removed by locals who wanted to keep vagrants from crossing over to the more well-to-do side of the river.
