Extreme fears are called phobias. There are specific terms for different phobias. Can you guess what people with hippophobia and papaphobia are scared of? I was even more surprised by the terms for these phobias. They could be quite misleading. Here are some examples: Hippophobia is NOT the fear of hippos. It's the fear of horses. Cryophobia is NOT the fear of tears. It's the fear of ice. Photophobia is NOT the fear of photographs. It's the fear of light. Papaphobia is NOT the fear of your dad. It's the fear of the pope. Phonophobia is NOT the fear of phones.
