The beam engine was being a bit recalcitrant first thing. It took a bit of starting, like most of us as we get to a certain age!
Engine 374, which pulled the first transcontinental train into Vancouver in 1887.
The train has been restored and now sits in its own pavillion in downtown, on the corner of Davie Street and Pacific Boulevard.
