Big piston version of a working v4 engine. The inspiration was to get the look similar to the JAP GN race car engine (which was lifted from an airship)
Texas State Railroad Ten Wheeler (4-6-0) #201, work in progress. Shown here with 9v equipment, but eventually will be PF.
Nearly done now, just have to order a handful of parts and add more details. The majority of what I need is more black flex tubing. I had previously given up the motor setup here (center motor with wheels on either side) because on uneven TexLUG track, this design would hang in low areas and stop. But now that I plan to ballast all my track, and at least one other TexLUGger is doing the same, and TexLUG is using standardized tables, that sort of thing should be a non-issue.
After this locomotive is complete, I will have finally finished my very long quest to build all nine of the Texas State Railroad locomotives - 5 steam and 4 diesel. But my project won't stop there - I plan to build the TSRR Palestine Depot and Engine Shed, and of course more TSRR Passenger coaches. I hope to debut a cohesive "Texas State Railroad at Palestine, Texas" MOC at Brickworld 2012.

The San Francisco Fire Department lost two of its members from Engine Company 26, who were both critically injured during an explosion while bravely fighting a house fire in the Diamond Heights neighborhood on June 2, 2011. Both died at the hospital as a result of their injuries after all rescussitative measures were taken by the Emergency Trauma staff at San Francisco General Hospital.
Days later firefighters from around California and around the country gathered to pay their respects during a funeral service.
Several Units from Los Angeles Fire Department were on hand to support San francisco in their loss. These included 3 new KME Pumpers, Engines 56, 94 and 96, a Ford E250 Passenger van and Field Mobile Mechanic 1 on a Ford F350 chassis.
I'm not entirely pleased with the photo. the focus isn't right and such, but it's the best I have of the fire engine.
Take two awesome transformers and combine them to form and even more awesome custom: ULTIMATE JETWING PRIME!
I used DMK01 and Takara's Jetwing Optimus Prime to make a movie accurate leader sized version of the Autobot leader.
For obvious reasons, the figure is not transformable.
I took the best parts from the DMK kit and blended them with the toy. Optimus now sports more accurate feet, legs, chest, shoulders, forearms and the most articulated and accurate hands for a Prime figure ever!
I also added chromed side mirrors taken from a truck model, and the tetris-like parts on the inside of the windshields.
The head was somewhat resculpted. I shaved off the "neck" from the original mold, for a more streamlined and accurate look, and I sculpted new eyes. They are now 2 tiny holes, instead of the original triangular shade-like eyes. I also mounted the head on a ball joint and added 2 powerful blue LEDs that even show in daylight. This is the part where the tiny holes become really important for the overall look. The LEDs glow look just like in the movie!
As cool as the original chainguns from the toy may look, they aren't movie accurate at all. So I scratch built new ones that ressemble a little better the look they got on screen and at the same time, keeping them removable. (the new guns alone are a true work of art. I just can't remember how many parts I used there!)
Last but not least, I added a few parts to the lower wings for a more accurate look. The engines also have new parts, but they will be rarely seen.. it's still good to know they are there, though!
*The smokestacks are removable so that the back pack can be attached properly.
One of my favourite Walter Woolfenden pictures tidied up for a second airing.

On Halloween 2013 a small fire in a San Jose town house complex got into the attic and resulted in a 2nd alarm response from San Jose Fire Department.
The fire was contained to the original unit and adjoining walls.

The main reason Luis came to the auto show was to ogle the Subaru BRZ. Thankfully, he not only got to check it out, but he got to sit in it as well and check under the hood. Needless to say, he was very impressed. The next day, Shadow's (his Subaru WRX) radiator went kaput. I think Shadow is jealous.

Over 20 full sized steam engines will be colouring the Riverside pastures on this fine April 27th 2014 weekend, including the only surviving Foden-built Showman's engine 'Prospector'. Steam fans will be thrilled with the authentic results and attention to detail our full-size and miniature engine owners uphold.
