NRG Power Plant

When the NRG power plant in El Segundo, Calif., was redesigned, two towers were demolished which caused extensive light from the plant to bother local neighbors. In an effort to get rid of this light pollution and update old, lighting fixtures at the same time, NRG turned to LEDtronics, Inc. for assistance.
“We faced an unexpected challenge when a large amount of new light was pouring into the homes of local residents after our demolition process,” states Jason Luehsenhop, Morrow-Meadows Corporation Senior Project Manager for the NRG LED lighting updates. “LEDtronics supplied us with street lights that reduced the light pollution immediately. In addition, we reduced energy consumption when our old lights that consumed 300 watts were replaced with these energy-efficient LEDs using only 82 watts.”
“An estimated 30% of outdoor light generated in the U.S. goes into space, flooding the skies and creating electric haze that reduces stargazing,” states Mark Jarel, LEDtronics’ Street and Outdoor Lighting Produces Sales Manager. “LED streetlights shine light in the direction where it is needed, at ground level, reducing the amount of light that is lost to the sky and improving overall nighttime viewing, making them dark sky friendly.”

Five of the twenty glass towers that make up part of the Inland Revenue's offices in Castle Meadow Road Nottingham.
Controlled by a complex computer system, the glass roofs on these towers raise and lower on hydraulic rams to suit the building's temperature.

Turtle-friendly LED Shoebox Lighting

There was a growing issue in Florida of Sea Turtle hatchlings on the beach being disoriented by bright beach side lights. They would head to the lights instead of the ocean, and many would be killed going into traffic.
In 2014, the City of Fernandina Beach decided to address the issue at its Main Beach Park by installing LEDtronics' Turtle-friendly high-power orange LED Lighting that will protect sea turtle nesting without compromising the public’s safety at night. The hatchlings aren't disoriented by the LED lights, and are now able to safely make their way home into the ocean!
The LEDtronics lights meet the requirements of Florida’s FFWCC Wildlife Lighting Certification Program when the luminaire’s light is downward directed in a manner that has minimal intrusion into sea turtle nesting beaches, migratory corridors, and Dark Skies Initiative-friendly communities.
The project was completed in partnership with Amelia Island Sea Turtle Watch and with a grant administered by the Sea Turtle Conservancy.
As a bonus, the shoebox-style LED luminaires will offer over 65% Energy Savings and cost benefits related to reduced maintenance and much extended lifespan compared to traditional incandescent lights. Additionally, the upgrades will provide significant reduction in Greenhouse Gases.

The WTB campus courtyard includes two bubbling water features for focal point and calming effect, bicycle racks to promote bicycle commuting and cut down on vehicle carbon emissions, sheltered bus stop, improved courtyard travel (lean rails and benches for multiple rest stops), covered sidewalks systems enhanced by appropriate landscape and direct entrances and exits.
Fort Hood’s new Warrior Transition Brigade Complex is a $62 million, 15-acre campus that includes a 30,137 square-foot battalion headquarters, a 15,000 square-foot company headquarters, a 192,000 square-foot 320-person barracks and a 15,000 square-foot Soldiers and Family Assistance Center that includes child-care facilities and a modern playground. The new facility, which held a ribbon-cutting ceremony June 6, improves care for wounded, injured and ill Soldiers and their Families because services are now centrally located and within walking distance. The new WTB campus allows WTB Soldiers to work, train and socialize as a group to create tighter bonds that have proven to be helpful in a Soldier’s healing.
The new barracks, which can house up to 320 Soldiers, include a selection of ADA-compliant rooms with roll-in showers, kitchen counters and desks to accommodate wheel chairs and wheelchair-accessible washer and dryers. Handrails are installed throughout hallways as well as in all private bathrooms.
All four buildings are eco friendly with design solutions that conserve energy, water efficient and self-sustainable. The buildings have solar panels that provide about 30% of energy used to heat hot water as well as standing seam metal roofs that lower the buildings' solar reflectivity index, which reduces heat and cooling costs. Other energy efficiency enhancements include motion sensing lights, high-efficiency window systems and non-water using urinals that use a biodegradable liquid for sanitary and odor free environment and dual flush toilets will save up to 30 gallons of water. The WT Operations building is LEED Silver Level certified.
Landscaping considerations include using native trees and grass that are grouped together by similar watering needs and selected for their hardiness, availability and drought tolerance.
The WT complex, by using durable finishes and efficient systems, is designed for a 25-year life span before renovation. It has an estimated 50-year life span with renovations.

With their sleek, modern design and even, bright light, the panel lights each only consume 40 watts (2x2) and 50 watts (2x4) to replace up to a 130 watt fluorescent fixture!
LEDtronics offers the Thin Panel Lights in three different sizes: 2 ft by 2 ft, 2 ft by 4ft, and 1 ft by 4 ft. The light panels come in the color temperatures Warm White (3000K), Medium White (3500K), Natural White (4000K), and Pure White (5000K).

To a professional symphony orchestra, being able to clearly read their sheet music is the only way to put on a performance worthy of a standing ovation. Sheet music poorly lit by troublesome incandescent lighting simply won’t due; especially for the best of the best.
The members of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra had to deal with inefficient incandescent lights in their musician stand lights. After they switched to LEDtronics Right-angle LED T10 Lamps, the Orchestra no longer has to worry about bad lighting holding back their performance.

The cutlery rack is incredible. You can place more silverware into the rack than in traditional dishwasher baskets. They also get cleaner as long as you don't place them too close together. This rack has dedicated spray jets above.
