A westbound Deseret Power Railway unit coal train passes through Mormon Gap, Colorado, on the morning of October 20, 2015. These E60C-2 electric locomotives are energized by a 50,000-volt overhead wire on catenary supports on the 35-mile line from the Deserado Mine loadout in Colorado and the Bonanza Power Plant in Utah. The railroad was originally built in 1982-1983 and called the Deseret-Western. The first two locomotives on this train are the original E60C-2 locomotives used during startup, acquired from GE from part of a cancelled order of the 6,000-h.p. machines for Nationales de Mexico, intended for use on a newly-constructed line out of Mexico City. Electric operations on this line was never realized—much of the E60C-2 fleet was used only briefly—or never put in service. Of the 39 locomotives built in 1982-83 for NdeM, 28 were finally placed in service on a portion of the intended route in 1994, and six were soon wrecked. The third locomotive in the photo (DPR-3) is one of five former NdeM E60C-2s that DPR bought to supplement the fleet in the mid-2000s.

This Pink Bunny always symbolizes these and it is always cute and funny and my favourite cartoon character. Oh and yes I do buy their batteries also.

Daily Dog Challenge: Energized
My wife and I went out to the eastern plains of Colorado to find the super moon on Saturday night and were gifted with a beautiful lightning storm for the encore. I feel fortunate to have gotten a chance to photograph such a photogenic storm!
Image Notes: photographing lightning can be dangerous, please be careful if you give it a try. I use an Ebay radio remote to trigger my camera wirelessly and occasionally use a window mount (such as here). I would love some day to own a lightning trigger but for now rely on repeated exposures with as long shutter speed as I can manage. It's a bit like photographing meteors, you never know when you are going to get lucky but can take steps to increase the odds of landing a big fish. ;-)))

I hope that everyone is staying home, not mingling and keeping safe. Sending you all my love and hugs and please stay strong. We can beat this terrible disease! So far I and my family are fine and we are all isolated from each other also. The is sad but we can talk via FaceTime or Skype on Internet.
I used to have one of these little figures, can't find it since my move. I always loved their advertising. My favourite one was when the Energizer Bunny (a make of batteries) went through the Bermuda Triangle and came out on the other side. If I see the ad again I will try and capture it from the TV and share it. It is sooo cute and I need to laugh a bit due to the stress of this terrible Virus. Quebec Province has the highest number of infected cases for the Covid-19 in Canada.
Black and White in color format, the white power strip and black plug for the hard drive backup! It is all digital black or white, on or off.
I walk Ivy five days a week. and she's lucky to have such a nice family, and to live near a beautiful park. She's a mixed breed, with prominent traits of cattle dog and Maltese. Her face wears this energized expression much of the time.

I know the placement is a bit off, but it looked good at the time on the camera LCD.. yeah, I could've tried to fix it during post, but I'm too lazy...
Having ranted till now, I do have a serious question for you all... Do you think I'm pushing the processing just a bit too much? I know I get carried away (sometimes) and over do it... Is this overdone? Which parts do you think are overdone?

Ratcliffe-on-Soar Power Station, Nottinghamshire is a Thermal power station with the primary fuel being coal. To be decommissioned in 2025. After the coal-fired plant is decommissioned in 2025 the site is under consideration for Britain's first commercial fusion-powered electricity generating plant, using the Spherical Tokamak for Energy Production (STEP) process.
