Italian postcard by ASER, no. 322. Photo: Vaselli / Juventus Film. Evi Maltagliati in Il nemico/The enemy (Guglielmo Giannini, 1943).

Evi Maltagliati (1908–1986) was an Italian stage and screen actress, who worked in Italian cinema between the later 1930s and the early 1970s.

Evi, originally Evelina, Maltagliati was born in Florence on 11 August 1908. She made her debut on the stage at the age of fifteen in the company of Dina Galli. With a strong dramatic temperament, she also stood out for her eclecticism and worked with the biggest names in the theatre: from Maria Melato to Max Reinhardt, who in 1933 entrusted her with the role of Titania in his Italian staging of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' with Carlo Lombardi, Cele Abba, Giovanni Cimara, Nerio Bernardi, Rina Morelli, Sarah Ferrati, Cesare Bettarini, Armando Migliari, Ruggero Lupi, Luigi Almirante, Giuseppe Pierozzi, Memo Benassi and Eva Magni at the Boboli Gardens in Florence. On stage, Maltagliati also worked with Gino Cervi, Sergio Tofano, Carlo Ninchi, and set up a company of young talents: Vittorio Gassman, Tino Buazzelli and Nino Manfredi. She often acted in film and later on also for television, playing several television dramas including Il romanzo di un giovane povero/The novel of a poor young man (Silverio Blasi, 1957) and La figlia del capitano/The captain's daughter (Leonardo Cortese, 1965). She was also active as a voice actress.

In 1934 Evi Maltagliati debuted on the silver screen in La fanciulla dell'altro mondo/The Girl from the Other World (Gennaro Righelli, 1934). In Alessandro Blasetti's Aldebaran (1935) she is the frivolous wife of a navy commander (Gino Cervi), who must choose between duty and his wife's jealousy. The film was an attempt by Blasetti to make a more commercial film after the badly received propaganda film Vecchia Guardia. In I due sergenti/The Two Sergeants (Enrico Guazzoni, 1936), Maltagliati is the British femme fatale who seduces a French soldier (Antonio Centa) to steal an important document from his superior (Gino Cervi). In Jeanne Doré (Mario Bonnard, 1938), she is a married woman whose lover (Leonardo Cortese) has killed a man for her. In the Manzoni adaptation I promessi sposi/The Betrothed (Mario Camerini, 1941) she played the Nun of Monza. In Sissignora (Ferdinando Maria Poggioli, 1941), she plays a widow who leaves her child in the custody of a young girl (Maria Denis), not telling her the child has chickenpox, thus infecting the girl, who eventually dies of it.

After the war, Evi Maltagliati, now of mature age, often played mothers in films, e.g. the mother of Milly Vitale in the tearjerker La sepolta viva/Buried Alive (Guido Brignone, 1949), the mother of Yvonne Sanson in Brignone's melodrama Noi peccatori/We sinners (Guido Brignone, 1953), the mother of Franco Interlenghi In Michelangelo Antonioni's I vinti/The Vanquished (1953), the mother of Ulysses (Kirk Douglas) in Ulisse/Ulysses (Mario Camerini, 1954), and the mother of Virna Lisi in Il padrone delle ferriere/The master of ironworks (Anton Giulio Majano, 1959). In the early sixties, Maltagliati was still visible in various films, including a return to her former role of the nun of Monza. However, this time she was the abbess in La monaca di Monza/The Nun of Monza (Carmine Gallone, 1962), while the title role was for Giovanna Ralli. Maltagliati played her final film role in the French film L'affaire Dominici/The Dominici Affair (Claude Bernard-Aubert, 1972), starring Jean Gabin. Evi Maltagliati died in Rome in 1986, at the age of 77. She was married to comedian Eugenio Cappabianca.

translation: Keagan and Beckett Works, Model 1915 Automatic rifle

In 1914 this weapon was developed for the german soldiers in the trenches as a superior weapon, only forged to kill as much enemys as possible. And the Model 1915 was good in this discipline. From todays sight, the M1915 was more then state of the art, it was as advanced as post second worldwar weapons, but this pays a high price. Itwas heavy (5kg), long, only full auto and it takes long time to clean the weapon, if it gets dirty. But that was unnecessary, the soldiers needed a weapon like this and they get it. The few of them, because it was very expensive.

Now a closer look to its advantages. First, the ammunition. This ammo was a shorten 7,92 x 57mm cartridge, stored in a 24 Rounds magazin and fired by 440 rounds per minute. In 1915 this was very fast. Another plus was the interchangeable rifled barrel, made by stainless steel and this gaves the M1915 nearly the precision of a Karabiner 98.

The high purchase price and the complex mechanisms should finally mean the end of the M1915 as a military weapon and in 1918, when the great war ends, only a handfull soldiers remember this marvelous weapon. The construction plans were hidden from the french and britisch army and been found 20 years later by Constantin Kyshirska, who changed a little bit and the made the Maschinenpistole 32.

There is one record made with this rifle. In a trench fight against the britains, two german soldiers killed 106 enemys, without any malfunctions at there M1915`s, the most brutal test for the worlds first and forgotten assault rifle.

(This weapon was roughly inspired by the Movie The Leauge of extraordinary gentleman, and the Casket Kalashnikovs used in this movie. And Lord J. Archibald and his very nice weapons. Thanks to both)

The George Armstrong Custer Equestrian Monument, also known as Sighting the Enemy is an equestrian statue of George Armstrong Custer located in Monroe, Michigan. The statue was unveiled on June 4, 1910. It was designated a Michigan Historic Site on June 15, 1992 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on December 9, 1994.

While Custer was not born in Monroe, he lived much of his early childhood living with relatives and going to school in Monroe. During his youth, he met his future wife Elizabeth Bacon, whom he returned to marry in 1864. Custer eventually left Monroe to attend the United States Military Academy and fight in the Civil War. Because of his hard work and success during the war — as well as the Union's need for officers — he was promoted to the rank of Major General and was a very well known military figure. After the Civil War, he partook in the Indian Wars. His previous accomplishments in the Civil War, however, were overshadowed by his catastrophic defeat and death at the Battle of the Little Big Horn on June 25, 1876.

To honor him, a $24,000, 14-foot (4.27 m) bronze equestrian statue, sculpted by Edward Clark Potter, was unveiled in Monroe in 1910 by then-President William Howard Taft and Elizabeth Bacon Custer. The statue commemorates his successful actions during the Civil War and not his more well known failure during the Indian Wars.

“The greatest challenge for me is to keep improving every aspect of the compositions and arrangements,” says ARCH ENEMY founder/guitarist Michael Amott about new album, War Eternal. “I’m always searching for ‘the perfect ARCH ENEMY song.’ When I started the band in 1995 I had the idea to create the most heavy melodic band of all time.”

And he did. Over the course of 19 years, ARCH ENEMY, under Amott’s guidance, crafted 10 acclaimed full-lengths, dominated sales charts, and toured the globe. If Amott were a smart man, he’d retire now to some tropical island with his favorite Michael Schenker records in tow and the setting sun on his face. But neither he nor ARCH ENEMY are done. Not by a long shot.

With vocalist Alissa White-Gluz replacing long-time frontwoman Angela Gossow in 2014 respectively, War Eternal is ARCH ENEMY reborn. “Changes in the band lineup are hardly ever looked upon favorably by the fans,” Amott acknowledges, “which I completely understand. Nonetheless, it does happen and the changes that have been made in the ARCH ENEMY camp were necessary in order for the band to survive and keep going. I love the energy of working with new people and Alissa has certainly brought a lot of talent and enthusiasm to the band!”

When Amott recruited Angela Gossow to front ARCH ENEMY for the Wages of Sin effort, he changed extreme metal forever. With White-Gluz, he has a new weapon. She’s a veritable firebrand on War Eternal, her unrelenting roar, cruel rasp and unique looks are the mark of a woman ready to conquer the world. “My goal is to keep ARCH ENEMY alive and thriving!” White-Gluz exclaims. “I want to open a whole new chapter for ARCH ENEMY, powerful and diverse, all the while respecting the legions of fans that love traditional ARCH ENEMY. Fans can expect loads of pure fucking metal.”

At 13 tracks, War Eternal is the quintessential ARCH ENEMY album. It’s both a nostalgic nod to the band’s past (“Never Forgive, Never Forget”, “No More Regrets”) and stunning example of what’s possible in the future (“Down to Nothing”, “Time is Black”). But if there’s a standout track—a spearhead—it’s the title song. Unveiled to the world on Youtube, “War Eternal” marches defiantly against the mundane, two raised fists to the constraints of society and the cage it desperately tries to put on us all. In it, White-Gluz proves she’s the next generation of great, while Amott and the rest of ARCH ENEMY play as if ”War Eternal” is their last song. That ”War Eternal” amassed an astonishing 1.5 million views the first 10 days is telling of its conviction and power. “There are a lot of details in this album that excite me as a songwriter and guitarist,” Amott grins. “Personally, I’ve pushed myself harder as player on War Eternal and feel I’ve gone to another level this time, which is very rewarding. I actually think the whole band has kicked everything up a notch or two.”

Produced by the band and mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Paradise Lost) at Fascination Street Studio, the Swedes’ 10th full-length is unrelentingly brutal yet remarkably polished. “We could afford any big name producer at this stage in the game,” says Amott. “Having the band produce the album was a natural and logical way of working for us at this point. It was critical that we bring out the true ARCH ENEMY sound, the essence of the band on this record and who knows that better than us? Jens Bogren did an outstanding mixing and mastering the album. It was my first time working with him and I am more than impressed with his talent.”

The album was hailed as “Album Of The Month” in Terrorizer (UK), Powerplay (UK), Metal Hammer (Germany), Rock Hard (France), Metallian (France), Scream (Norway), Sweden Rock (Sweden) and got more than positive reviews all over the world; additionally, War Eternal achieved career-best chart positions for the band in the USA (#44), Germany (#9), Finland (#5), France (#56), and The Netherlands (#36), plus the best UK chart entry (#85) since Doomsday Machine (#81). ARCH ENEMY were also honored to appear on the front covers of Revolver (USA), Legacy (Germany), Rock Hard (France), Inferno (Finland), Up (Netherlands), Aardschok (Netherlands), Metal Maniac (Italy),Pro Rock (Bulgaria), Into The Pit (Thailand) and many more magazines.

Right after the release of War Eternal, the band kicked off their eternal touring with sublime festival shows at Wacken, Sweden Rock and many more, followed by a world tour with Kreator (with whom they released a split 7” single later in October 2014).

During the USA headline tour with Kreator, the band decided to part ways with guitarist Nick Cordle.

Christopher Amott (the brother of ARCH ENEMY founder/bandleader Michael Amott) joined the band for the remainder of their American headlining tour and Jeff Loomis (ex-Nevermore) stepped in for the following European dates with Kreator. Jeff will continue for another busy year in 2015 and beyond.

Jeff Loomis states: "I'm very excited to be playing with ARCH ENEMY. Michael Amott and I have stayed in contact over the years since we toured together when I was playing in Nevermore. Not only do I admire his guitar playing and songwriting, but I also consider him a close friend. To be able to share the stage with Michael, Sharlee, Daniel and Alissa is something I'm really looking forward to. 2015 is going to be a great year... See you all on tour!"

Michael Amott (guitars) comments: "The prospect of working with Jeff Loomis moving forward is truly awesome! Jeff Loomis is one of the best guitar players in the metal world in my opinion, as well as being a long time friend. I look forward to tearing it up on stages around the world together as we continue on the ‘War Eternal' touring cycle throughout all next year and beyond!"

There is no doubt that ARCH ENEMY are stronger than ever before. And the war is not over yet.

Though mainly using a variety of mech, Dawn Forge occasionally needs something quick while still being lethal. These massive trucks usually travel in a pair, and their long range missiles can strike miles away from enemy lines, while its high caliber cannon can be deadly at medium range. They are plated in a polymer alloy armor that deflects even the toughest of blows.

Neive Lane would've stared, stared at the hands of the woman, the hook and the eyepatch. The skin would've probably swell up again and have some empty holes around the area until it would heal once more. "I might." she mumbled "I might.. I might fall in love, I might murder someone, I might fuck.. But right now, nothing of that will happen.. cuz i'm TIED DOWN HERE..." she growled before she just started sobbing. "I.. its so hard.. Candy.. so so hard.." she cried "So darn fucking hard.. to.. I don't know. I'm raised to go to church on sunday and pray.. my only worries where to graduate and if this one fucking guy liked me.. Since I left Florida.. Everything changed.. everything.. its so hard.."”

Emmy 'Candy' Moretti places the hook and patch down onto the floor by her feet before clambering into cage with Neive, curling up beside her as hands moved to the brunettes face, fingers wiping up tears if any should spill ‘’you are tied down here because you were bad, you left us, I gave you chance to leave and you did not leave in time, from that point you became mine, My sister, I became yours, your sister.. You will be untied, You will be untied when you wake up and can see’’ she cooed face raising so she could brush her lips against the missing eye socket ‘’It’s hard I know, my family is catholic, you know this? my saint was rita and she were my strength, until i found strength in my demon.. Dominic does like you sweet heart, he knows you are family before you even did.. It’s hard… It’s so hard drowning to break the waters surface being Devoured to live.. You can do this though, you can do it for your family, for us’’

Neive Lane just kept crying, sobbing, feeling Emmy's fingers wipe them away. Nothing would be said, nothing at all. Just cry outs, small little breaths, that separated sobbing from more sobbing, from more tears falling down. "Ain't no use for running, seein' that train coming, it's bound to roll you down.." she hummed softly. And it was truth. As long the ropes where tied. She would be stringed up. It was life, life was a hard long road. And most people are jerks, who leave their hearts on the tracks. Neive had felt like she was made from stone, bone dried from bleeding. She had thought of leaving, but somehow her voice was taken from her mouth. She had been jerk, Neive and Mesch had been a couple of jerks, everyone was in a way. Neive couldn't fight it much longer, she needed to listen - she needed to wake up. She knew she needed to, but it was hard for her. Very hard. "I'm sorry.." she sobbed "I'm so sorry.. I'm a horrible person.."

Emmy 'Candy' Moretti smiled as the woman cried, fingers constantly brushing to mop up tears, over and over, Esme had done this for her once. When she had learnt of brothers death the green haired one had listened to her screams and cries and so Emmy now would do the same for Neive. The sorries were not meant for her. The words Neive said were hers to say to herself. The woman would grow. Would become stronger and Emmy would be there to watch from the side lines with a proud smile on her face. ‘’I am here for you Neive, I am here to hold you and carry you when you need it.. Just stop running away from the ones who love you’’ she moved her head, lips brushing against the woman’s temple, to her tear stained cheeks. Again and again she kissed gently to express some manner of comfort to the woman as scarred lips pressed to skin.

Mayday! Mayday!

The ship is slowly sinking

They think I'm crazy but they don't know the feeling

They're all around me,

Circling like vultures

They wanna break me and wash away my colors

Wash away my colors

Take me high and I'll sing

Oh you make everything okay

We are one in the same

Oh you take all of the pain away

Save me if I become

My demons

I cannot stop this sickness taking over

It takes control and drags me into nowhere

I need your help, I can't fight this forever

I know you're watching,

I can feel you out there

Take me high and I'll sing

Oh you make everything okay

We are one in the same

Oh you take all of the pain away

Save me if I become

My demons

Take me over the walls below

Fly forever

Don't let me go

I need a savior to heal my pain

When I become my worst enemy

The enemy

Take me high and I'll sing

Oh you make everything okay

We are one in the same

Oh you take all of the pain away

Save me if I become

After the last enemy soldier pulled out of Slovenia, the R.O.S could now finally start with its planned invasions. Instead of going through the balkan part, the R.O.S decided to move through Italy. Unfortunatly they met another obstacle. A different kind of enemy. The word has it that the new obstacle are drug-dealers. Led by Matteo Bianco, the Slovenian's president cousin (he really is my cousin :P) this group is all around the world. Their strongest positions are in Italy, Albania and throughout the Middle East.
