My two cents.
Well, Flickr deployed the troops at last. Now every picture protesting is being deleted from Explore so it seems that's the end of the strike for now.
On the other hand, every demonstration comes to its end, and I gues it would be difficult to do a coordinate halt for all of us. Maybe it's time for Flickr to think, to give them some time and to wait for explanations. Up to this moment they were doing -with some flaws limited to moderation / administration- a good work.
Cheers to all of you. See you next time on the barricades.

Never ending view ... A view I never tire of. It always puts a smile on your face just as you walk around the last bend it comes into view in all it's glory.
Around a decade ago, the CRIP station signs on this line fell and made way for these new IANR ones, but soon, they too will likely fall in the wake of CN's takeover of the Iowa Northern Railway.

Ending this year with a simple photo that’s very meaningful to me: this is the first film photo I’ve uploaded since returning to occasionally shooting it a couple years ago. It’s not all I might like, and my digital shots from the day are better (I’m no doubt more adept with digital these days), but I hope there will be more to come.
I also shot it on Edward Weston’s birthday two years ago, on my first visit to one of the most beautiful beaches in this area.

I was headed back to my car from Venice beach when I spotted a bird that I haven't seen in quite some time. This California Thrasher was perched atop this dried perch posing nicely for me and calling while I clicked away This was the last image that I took before we ended our road trip vacation...'nice ending'!
Thank you for your visit and comments...it's a lovely day today, wishing you the same.
.
I had uploaded this yesterday, intending to post it to Freitagsblümchen but then never got back to the computer!
I had asked one of the garden's groundskeepers if she knew what it was. She rattled off a name that sounded as if it started with 'Dr' or 'Dar' and ending with what sounded like 'nunculus.' She said it grew from a bulb. She was obviously busy so I didn't ask for more clarification. My googling so far hasn't turned up anything.
Bud in Maine found the answer. It's common name is Dragon lily. Dracunculus vulgaris.
I'd like to head back soon to see if that spike opens up more.

Newly planted 'Sweet William' ready for next year and one of the last leaves to fall off my Blackcurrant bush.
Thank you to everyone who pauses long enough to look at my photo. Any comments or Faves are very much appreciated
We'll start with well a description about a photo I never wanted to take a not one I wanted to write either but I wanted my own bit of history for one of the buses that I remember when it was brand new during the Scottish Commonwealth games of 2014 when they were initially being used as shuttle buses. There are many Flickr photos of that but a bit before my development.
Thankfully, everyone who did happen to be on this bus during the incident that I will mention did manage to get off unharmed, it helped that it was right at the end of the route.
So, the story on the 11th of June 2023 during a normal Sunday on usual service 1 duties there was suddenly a big puff of black smoke that was in the air around the North of Edinburgh. This was because the bus on show Lothian buses 11 had gone on fire a stop away from the Clermiston bus terminus, It looked like it was an engine fault that led the back of the bus to be absolutely destroyed.
A week on and I knew it was at Marine lying in a sorry state, I was well aware that I was photoless of it so wanted to make a quick stop off to see if it was able to be a photo and lucky for me it was sat at the end of the road that I managed to grab a whole profile shot of. So, here will be my shot off 11 as I am pretty sure that it will unfortunately be scrapped as at 9 years old and rather unreliable as was I doubt that a repair and return to service will be likely.

Well company, my son and family, will soon be leaving. Such a short but lovely time! I get that sensing of one season ending and another beginning.....rather nostalgic. I wish all my family was closer....they mean so much to me! :)
