Is coming!

Our biggest market night to date is nearly here! We will be selling lots of end of line stock at low low prices plus some never before seen unique ONE OFF’s!

Soon there will be an album on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/lavishandcoltd) displaying the items for sale. Have a browse and see what your favourites are.

To make things as fair as possible we are giving everyone prior notice to the date and time that everything will go live, plus to avoid anyone claiming the item before we are releasing a password.

On market night at an appointed time there will be a word released. It will then be the first person to comment with this word that gets the item. Payment then needs to be made within 24 hours or the item will be re-released and/or given to the 2nd person to comment.

You can pay via PayPal, Bank Tranfer or Telephone (all the details needed will be displayed on each item).

We hope everyone will have a great time bagging some bargains and unique items and the date will be given out very soon!

There is something surreal about a Park&Ride facility sitting in nothing but miles of Texas prairie. Austin is apparently funneling growth to Leander. Hopefully what takes shape is a less auto-dependent boomburg than what currently exists along the 183 growth corridor. This walking trail is a good sign that they are thinking of this the right way. Unfortunately, the Park and Ride is not tying in very well to a regional road network...and in fact is competing head to head with the 183 toll road which bypasses it. I have a lot of questions about the logic of aligning the transit corridor along a new tollway..Anyone in Austin care to fill me in?

Earlier in the year, Andy and I decided to visit every station on the Underground (at least in passing). Andy took it upon himself to take the photographs of the stations (usually the roundel except where a station doesn't have any) and I took it upon myself to look out the window. Here we are at Edgware station, the final one, and we are looking thrilled. We look like this because I'm terrible at framing these sorts of photos.

End of Morandoo is nigh - PN intends to give up operational control of Morandoo yard in 2024/25 and forcibly merge the Morandoo Bulk/Intermodal business unit with the Coal business unit by The Mad Mexican Monk

This did actually happen and ruined what was a fabulous depot with a strong staff morale

Saab Salvage is now winding down after 17 years since transitioning from Saab Serve and will shut down for good in a year or two by The Mad Mexican Monk

Steve Emanuel started working on Saab cars in 1988 and was a business partner at Saab Serve (when it was still at North Parramatta on Barney St), and subsequently sold his share of that in 2007 to start up Saab Salvage, which in 2024 he is closing down due to wanting to retire.

In Sep 2025 the business shut down for good after Steve sold the building and dealt with de-establishing the business he created in 2007. He's now enjoying a very well earned retirement.
