The blue hour over lower Manhattan was particularly dramatic earlier this evening. The scene with the clouds and the spot of light right behind the Freedom Tower was just captivating! This was the view from the Paulus Hook Ferry terminal by the Jersey City waterfront. Photo taken with my Nikon D7500 DSLR camera, handheld.

From time to time I like to photograph the crowded streets and try to capture the fast and tumultuous pulse of the city.
I'm not very good, but I'm trying to learn from my mistakes.
Thank you very much for your visit and kind faves !
Northern Ireland's Parliament Buildings. Designed by Sir Arnold Thornely, and built in 1932 at Stormont, on the eastern outskirts of the city of Belfast.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

End of Vine, this Clematis vine is topped out in one year just at 6 foot, and now the season change will bring it to the end of line in growth this season.
"Like balloons, we are nothing till filled."
~Herman Melville, but assuredly not a quote from Moby Dick.
Tiny balloon unable to hold air. Poor balloon has reached the end of its air-borne days, but has a small life as a decorative object. Of sorts. A tiny hole or two damaged the little decorative balloon, which has been in the kitchen drawer for several years now. I just liked the vibrant hue.
Two studio lights at 3 and 9 positions above a light box. (Another rainy day needing lots of light.)
My attempt at the "FlickrFriday" theme "EndOfLine".
If you speak the title you have (pretty much) the pronunciation of the german word 'Alleinsein' which means being alone or loneliness!

The city is gradually replacing wooden poles with taller metal poles. it would be far better to put all cables underground.

Niendorf Nord U-bahn station is a nice end-of-the-line station of U Bahn line U2 in the versatile city of Hamburg. The station is not straight, but curves slightly.
I was on a walk (as a guest) with the photographer and friend Andreas Mundt.
This composition is all about remoteness. Telephone lines brought distant people together during the twentieth century and although the world has largely turned wireless since then, I wanted to create a portrait from that era showing a remote person at the end of a telephone line making a call, either for assistance or to speak to a loved one.
To achieve this, I have concentrated on lighting, props and location. For lighting, I wedged my modern mobile phone (in flashlight mode) behind the old British GPO dial phone in my garage, which has plain brick walls. An open door provides some additional illumination. The light switch is a little bit too modern, but it is an industrial grade one, so it (sort of) fits in with the remote idea.
In post processing, I have fixed a bit of lens distortion (20mm is fairly wide) and corrected some unwanted rotation. I then adjusted the black point and lighting.
This telephone does actually work, but for incoming calls only. The electric bell ringer makes a great sound.
