...driving down a local country lane to capture frost and fog saw these Roe Deer running across a field knowing they would cross this track,so jumped out of the car and quickly took this-very much-grab shot!
You just never know what you are going to see in your backyard. The squirrels use my fence as a highway but traffic stopped when this Green Heron showed up near dusk. So, it's good to have your camera near by. This encounter ended with the Green Heron taking a stab at the squirrel who flipped in the air and then came back for more. Eventually the Green Heron captured a lizard and then left.
I had a fleeting encounter with this beautiful creature as it slowly and deliberately walked from the leaf to my finger attracted by the warmth.

The clouds over Port Talbot steelworks, S. Wales, glowing in the dark last night. Reminded me of a scene from Close Encounters.
Spitzkoppe, Namibia. 2014.
One of the most stunningly beautiful, remote, desolate places on this planet.
This was a sunset shot from our first evening in Spitzkoppe, a rugged mountain of pink granite boulders that rise from an otherwise flat plain north-west of the capital Windhoek. An eerie and magical place.

Cascade Falls was a destination point for day hikers. The trail beyond is only really trekked by backpackers. About a 1/4 mile past the falls we encountered this little one and knew that we were on a special trip.
Terrific Thursday to you.
This is a full frame shot of an encounter I had with a coyote. It was trotting directly towards me not knowing I was there behind my camera and tripod but I didn't have a clear shot until it was only a few yards away when it briefly came partially in the open allowing me only a few frames before it realized I was right in front of him, then without stopping, it quickly turned and ran off. It's not the best shot as far as composition goes with the ears and nose cut off but I never thought it would get this close! This is the only decent frame I got.
