Through the window bus. And that is why I never sleep on a bus.

The courtyard, or perhaps an atrium, stands empty. The columns reach upward but no longer have anything to support. In Pompeii “the upper classes mainly lived in domus, large houses sometimes covering an area of about 3,000 sq. m. The domus were usually based on the same main structure. The front door led into the atrium, a large central hall open at the roof. Around the atrium the other rooms of the house were located: the bedrooms (cubicula), the servants’ quarters, the dining rooms (triclinia) and living rooms.” In AD 79, over the course of two days, the lives of the wealthy and the common people changed forever. Mount Vesuvius revealed itself as a volcano, not as a peaceful mountain as the people thought. Up until that time, there was no word for “volcano”….
Evening, exhausted after 2 hours of running around and taking pictures of rally cars, so rested on the bridge by tacking picture of empty street.
A trio of veteran EMD SD40-2's pull an empty ballast train past Peter Lake and the Tomann Preserve in Medina, Minnesota. This train is headed for Portage, Wisconsin for reloading at Waterloo. The warm days over the past week have started to green things up a bit. I'm hoping this photo is Todd R. approved.

I had a lot of things this weekend, so I'm going to release the stock.
Late lunch at Sky Restaurant in Shiodome. Fortunately, I was able to secure a counter seat by the window, but unfortunately it was cloudy. When I was half giving up, the sun suddenly appeared from the cracks in the clouds. There was nothing but an empty beer glass on the counter, but I reluctantly took a picture, and the cloud did an unexpected job.
Photo 8 - I finally hung around after closing at Magic Kingdom last week to get the "empty Main Street" photo. I was amazed at how long it takes people to find their way out. This was taken about an hour and 45 minutes after closing. The last people on the street filtered by me and I snapped a 30 second exposure. Before I could get the shorter exposures, more people came down and some cast members walked onto the street and parked there, about halfway down. I was still able to salvage this photo. If you look closely, you can see a blue streak where a cast member walked through my shot with an iPad.

North Suzhou Road (苏州北路) - empty apart from a few parked cars in the early evening (will not be more crowded at other times as well...). View On Black
The black VW Santana on the right features a 苏J -registration plate and therefore is from Yancheng (盐城, literally "Salt City") in Jiangsu Province.

As of 2023 the 河滨缘宾馆 (Hebinyuan Hotel) on the left does not exist anymore - but the building itself remains standing.

Waiting. Its there and just the same
As it was when someone got out of it.
But who is it that just gone? And
Why? Who is it that left us? That’s gone now?
And why nobody is seating there now?
And most of all, why
Does it matter so much to me
Why is the chair empty?
Is it because I already
Miss someone?
Somehow this bed reminds me of my first Road trip in USA. I had landed in NY, took the bus to Washington DC, flew down to Orlando...
And then drove all the way to San Francisco.
This hotel room reminds me of that Road trip in USA in 2015.
Later in 2017 I drove Route 66 and in 2019... well, check my RL pics! ;)
After having been absent for nearly a week I found only empty shells (of the eggs shown in previous uploads).
Don Oppedijk suggested I take them with me to witness the birth of these critters, but I saw that suggestion too late.
So all I can show now are empty shells, I could find no youngsters.....
