A chestnut emerges from its casing split open by the fall from the tree. Bandings around the nut give it the look of weed grain ..
It took more than coffee grounds to turn the blossoms on our hydrangea from pink to blue: applications of camellia and rhododendron soil plus fertilizer for acid loving plants.
Happy Thursday! Take care and stay safe. Thanks for stopping by and for all of your support -- I deeply appreciate it.

Its true....the sun does eventually shine and that fog burns off. This is the view from the back of my office overlooking St. John's Harbour and of course, Signal Hill.
No more fog pictures now....I hope! :-) Moving on to bright and sunny. Everyone cross their fingers for me!!!

A hardy zinnia, grown from seed, ready to burst forth in full bloom. We will see how hardy these zinnias are, as a huge tree branch from next door fell right onto my zinnia patch in this week's tropical storm. Unfortunately, the rain continues, so who knows.....

This weekend has been the first time in ages that I felt like picking up the camera and taking some images. I went down to the little lake near home to see if the Lathams Snipe had returned from Japan.
When I arrived, there was a Yellow Spoonbill putting on quite a show, posturing as a little masked Lapwing landed near-by.
I took many images and I chose this one because that's me. Just starting to emerge from the embrace of home.
We are in lock down and restricted to 5 km from home-again. But- yesterday the sun was shining, I met a friend and I was so thankful to be feeling relatively well and to see my beautiful birds back from Japan and some local characters. Can't ask for more than that at the moment.
I will still be limiting comments and uploads for now but look forward to visiting you all when I can. xxx
Good morning everyone and hope a great weekend was had by all.
It is getting a little slow here now but we still have the local fare and if your patient enough sometimes you will get an image or two, albeit of the same species but a little different, and hope your not bored.
Have a great day everyone and thank you for stopping by to say hi.

I love how this one turned out and even my biggest critic, who usually likes plain un-manipulated photos, likes it :-)
