They some like it hot ... but maybe not this hot. Five of our seven rural volunteer fire departments responded to this one. Because of the Starbuck Fire of 2017, they have become one team and it shows in the work they do.

A small wildfire spread across our county, burning over 600 acres. Snapped this shot when the firefighters were debriefing after the fire was extinguished.

My trusty "just in case" lantern - HCT!

This is a selfie shot, I made at in an abandoned bunker hospital on last saturday. I like the lines of the phosphorus on the walls, which is the emergency light and I wanted to use them as a guiding line to a person. The easiest way was to use a remote release and to place myself at the entry!

Driving with a big fire engine (especially on an emergency sortie) requires high skills by the driver in the dense traffic and partly small and narrow streets.

I took these Photographs of Boonton Fire Trucks at a Truck Show in Boonton, New Jersey on September 12, 1992. According to the sign in the center of my photograph (Number 1) it looks like the Truck Show was sponsored by SCERBO Buick, Chevy, Olds ?

Disclaimer: These photos were taken on September 12, 1992 with my Minolta Maxxim 5000 35 mm SLR with Color Print Film, when I was just learning photograph, so they were very soft & grainy. I scanned the Negative, and used Photoshop Elements™ to correct the Exposure and Saturation to generate the Digital Digital Image, presented here on flickr™.

I promise one day i will grow up. [maybe tomorrow]

I took this photo in March 1999 with my Minolta Maxxim 5000 35 mm SLR Film Camera with Color Print Film and I scanned the Negative to generate this Electronic Image. I took the photo at a car show, here in Florida, however I can't remember where, since I could not find my notes and I failed to mark the Slide with the pertinent information. I have a vague recollection of a show I attended in Homosassa or Homosassa Springs, Florida and this might be where I took the photo. This Photo shows a Former US Air Force Fire Truck.

Disclaimer: Since I took this photo in March 1999, while I was still learning Photography, some of my original Negatives are of poor quality in both Exposure and Sharpness, which I could only partially correct with Adobe Photoshop™.

Long exposure to capture the full array of police car lights. 12MP camera.

I went to a Truck Show that was held in Roxbury, New Jersey on September 29, 1991. My Notes are very Sketchy, however it was near where Interstate 80 (aka: Christopher Columbus Highway) crosses over US Route 46 (aka: Ledgewood Road) in Roxbury Township, New Jersey.

This Particular Photograph shows Concord, Massachusetts Fire Engine on display at the Roxbury Truck Show in Roxbury, NJ.

This caught my eye and the lens of my 35 mm Minolta Maxxim 5000. ADAMS Metal Products located at 7 Orben Drive, Ledgewood, NJ 07852, which is close to the I-80 Bridge over Crossover of US Route 46. I don't remember, but it's quite possible that the Truck Show was held on ADAM Metal Products Property. Another possibility, is that, it might have been Held at Orben Park.

A Station Sergeant on an emergency sortie on the busy roads of Hong Kong. The bike looks still very new and I absolutely love the bright blue and red LED lights!

For some reason this police officer was obviously looking for something or someone or maybe he just stopped in front of a red traffic light?

I came across this accident on the way to lunch today. For those of you that know Tampa it was on Dale Mabry Highway just South of Gunn. Accidents here are no special thing, but what I witnessed as I drove by was.

As I got closer to the accident I noticed a Hillsborough County Deputy walking around with a small child in his arms. I don't know where the parents were, but the child was in safe hands. I tried to snap a shot off while driving (this one) but it didn't capture the scene.

I drove off heading to meet my wife for lunch...but the image stuck with me.

I work with Law Enforcement. Not as an officer, but in a support role (I am an equipment supplier). I work with these people daily. They are strong men and women who never get the respect they deserve for what they put up with every day. They are good people who truly care about all of us. What do they get for it? Very little you or I would understand. It's the little things like comforting a child during a hard time that makes them whole. This is the real story that is missed thanks in no small part to the media highlighting the few bad moments rather than the countless wonderful ones.

As I drove on I felt like I needed to capture that moment, but was sure it was over...the child would surely be out of the deputy's arms by now, why go back? But I did go back, and what I witnessed was one of those moments that refreshes your view on humanity.

Not only were there two children and not just one, but there were two Deputies, each holding a child.

I pulled into an adjacent parking lot and with the aid of my 300MM zoom I got the shots following this one through the traffic. They never saw me.

These are the shots you don't see in the paper. They won't feature this as a news teaser. These guys will never get a medal or commondation for this. But you have to wonder, will the children remember this moment of kindness and compassion? My guess is yes, and the world will be a better place for it.

Thank you for all you do for us. You are the true Heroes.

An Albuquerque Police car with emergency lights on.

This picture was taken from the upper deck of a bus heading towards Tseung Kwan O when only minutes before a Porsche Boxster "met" a taxi. Nothing serious as fortunately neither driver was injured and even the damage on both cars was only very minor.

But as this is a major road and the skills of many drivers here are not really good (for instance the bus I was on didn't slow down at all when passing by) the police showed heavy presence to secure the site.
