A very rainy day in London. Taken from the cover of a subway near the Imax, Waterloo. The heavens absolutely opened with a downpour of almost biblical proportions for a few minutes - well, by British standards anyway. The walkways turned into rivers, water flowing almost an inch deep in places, soaking my feet even though I was undercover. It was worth wet toes for the rest of the day for the drama of being there, and it lent interest and atmosphere to the scene in front of me. Canon EOS 6D & EF 28-80mm f/2.8-4.0L @ 46mm, f/4, 350th sec @ ISO 800.
I was walkabout in Adlershof in Berlin; happened upon this arranged inner city flower bed and decided to pop a few macros, now, my camera was acting weird and coming back with misty images, possibly the sunlight was to blame, unlike when I first bought it when Macro's were solid and sharp. However, I decided to use this to my advantage and capture this beautiful emerging flower. With the bokeh background, I softened it a little in post processing and got what I feel is a very, to utilise the word in its truest meaning, fantastic image.

Mourning Cloak butterfly (Nymphalis antiopa) as it emerges from its chrysalis. It was found hanging under a beam on the outside of my San Diego garage and within minutes of this picture, flew away.
