Onboard the Talistar, an old restored Vakbeor-class cargo frigate, on the edge of the Maw system, en route to the top secret Maw Installation…

Excerpt from Dr. Faul Cydric’s log: My precious embryos have reached the third stage, but we keep losing approximately 90% when entering the fourth. We need better facilities if we are to ensure continued progress.

Dr. F'hobo Gil: Doctor! We are down to twenty-three zztable, thirty viable, and we have lozzt more than 70 perzzent of this generazzion. By my calculazzionzz we'll have lezzzz than ten perzzent of the zzubjectzz left!

Dr. Cysdric: Colonel! We need to dock immediately! We’ve already lost too many embryos! This ship is not made for transporting our sensitive equipment!

Col. Varas: Stand down! This is Maw space! We need to follow maximum security protocols, before we can dock… Our transport has gotten us this far without unwanted attention - sit tight and await my orders!

Dr. Cysdric:DO YOU EVEN FATHOM WHAT’S AT STAKE HERE!!

Col. Varas: EASY DOCTOR! I have my orders from the top. You better see to your science experiment, and I’ll let you know when we can unload your… tube-things…

Dr. Cysdric sighed, and turned away…

Dr. Cysdric: …you will regret this…

Col. Varas: I already am!

With a little delay, my first scene to show the more sciency side of the Stygian Society activities. I love how the embryo chambers turned out. Labs definitely offer a great opportunity for lots of fun little SW props. Below are a few more shots. Let me know what you think.

Better On Black

Our VIP tour guide at Universal Studios in 2006 took this shot of the group reaching the end of the Jurassic Park ride.

One bit of interesting trivia is that near the end (just before you get out), the can Dennis Nedry used to hide the embryos inside was on display on the left.

Some archive macro shots to mix things up a bit.

Bitter Gourd (Momordica charantia) seeds contain Ribosome-Inactivating Proteins (RIPs): The seeds contain alpha-momorcharin and related lectins which are cytotoxic and have been shown in some studies to induce apoptosis (cell death).

Developmental Toxicity: Research has demonstrated that crude seed extracts can be highly potent and lethal to embryos - suggesting that the seeds should be avoided by pregnant women.

Irritants: The seeds contain concentrated amounts momordicin, cucurbitacins, and saponins. Overconsumption of these compounds can cause severe stomach cramps,

The Embryo Nebula NGC 1333 located at the western end of the Perseus molecular cloud is one of the most beautiful objects in the late autumn sky.

This star forming region displays some red emission from Herbig-Haro objects, as well as glowing gas emanating from very young stars.

The Perseus OB2 molecular cloud is a giant cloud of dust and gas and spans between Omicron Persei and NGC 1333, an area over 6 degrees wide.

On the upper right, yellowish reflection nebula vdB12 can be seen. Below, the small reflection nebulae vdB13 and vdB16 cast a blue light into the faint nebulosity.

Stack of 105 exposures of 4 minutes each at f/5.5, totalling 7 hours.

Taken during 4 nights in September, October and November 2021 in rural Upper Austria with a QHY600C-PH and a Skywatcher Espirt 100 at 550mm focal length. Tracking with Skywatcher EQ6-R, autoguiding with MGEN-3. Processed with Astro Pixel Proxessor, Starnet++ and Photoshop.

Theme: Broken

As soon as this week's theme was announced, I knew exactly that I wanted this image to go with it. It's inspired by a drawing an artist located in Portland, OR did(image of that is in the comments), but I cannot remember his name. So if anyone recognizes the work, please link me to his site, so I can put it on here! :)

This was a lot harder to shoot than I imagined it would be, mostly because all three of my cats decided to 'help'. Oy. >__< I was covered in corn syrup (even though you can't tell), so it was hard to shoo them out of the way. Ooooh, kittens these days. Haha. ;)

I'm pretty happy with how this turned out, though, even though I had to dig the egg shell out of the garbage. ;) Haha.

I'm officially caught up now. :)

Don't forget to visit my etsy shop! Link is located on my profile section. :)
