"Embryo Dead" by :wumpscut:
The Embryo Nebula in Perseus is a beautiful blue reflection nebula. It lies at a distance of about 1000 light-years. This nebula is at the edge of a star forming region. It is a real stellar nursery and contains thousands of very young stars, less than a million years in age. The red emissions visible in the center comes from Herbig-Haro objects and are basically jets and shockwaves of glowing gas, ejected by recently formed stars.
The dark dusk clouds below the reflection nebula has been named Barnard 205.
Color image taken at the remote observatory from the E-Eye site in Spain. The image is composed of 21 hours of exposure time with the ZWO ASI-2600MC color camera using a Takahashi CCA250 f3.6 astrograph, riding a unguided 10Micron GM2000.

...in embryo the fae danced on into the night...while the flowers, pale and unreal in the moonlight, floated away upon the river; and thus do greater things that once were in our breasts, and near our hearts, flow from us to the eternal seas..... charles dickens
This is a wide field image of both Heart (IC 1805) & Soul (IC 1848) Nebulae in the constellation of Cassiopeia. These Huge nebulae are 6 degrees across the sky. The Heart nebula is very faint and larger than Soul nebula. It equals 5 times the size of full moon. The stars are forming in the middle of the heart nebula. Sometimes, Soul nebula is called Embryo nebula. Gear setup: WO Redcat51 f/4.9,, iOptron SkyGuider pro unguided, ZWO ASI2400 MC pro @ -10C. Acquisition by ASIair, 29 x 300 sec Optolong L e-Nhance, 30 x 300sec Radian Triad ,20 Darks, 50 Bias, Flat 20, total integration of 4hrs & 55 min captured on two nights 17/09 and 01/10/2021. Blessed are clouds, to do as such clouds do! Vouchsafe, bright moon, and these thy stars, to shine, those clouds remov'd, upon our wat'ry eyne....Shakespeare
An old picture taken @ Embryo but I wanted to do something more with it than previously. Hope you like :)
NGC 1333, The Embryo Nebula
My goal was to compare this photograph taken with a monochrome camera and LRGB filters to one I shot a while back using the same telescope but with a color camera. In theory the monochrome version should be sharper and more colorful but hardware differences, shooting conditions, advances in software and other variables make an exact comparison difficult. Happily, exposure times were similar at about 5 hours for each image. The new version IS sharper and more colorful, but again technological advances as well as my ongoing experience may account for some of the differences between the two photos.
As for the target itself, I often find the popular names of deep space objects puzzling but in the case of the Embryo Nebula the moniker is spot on. Notice the two red clusters of nascent stars still embedded in their birth clouds. Most of the stars in these clusters are pre-main sequence meaning they have not yet begun to glow with light generated by nuclear fusion.
The orange and blue sections are REFLECTION nebulae where large stars illuminate surrounding clouds of gas. The orange areas define regions where hydrogen gasses are present while the blue section delineates vapors of ionized oxygen lit by the large central star.
Early Spring Hokku
A lone dying leaf,
Clinging to the leaf buds;
A spring ritual.
.
.
A dying Japanese maple leaf (Acer palmatum) hangs on as embryos in the leaf buds develop.
Doesn't it look like it's holding the buds with its "hands?" It's as if the energy from the dying leaf is moving through the hands and into the leaf buds, going directly into the embryonic cells. Even though we know that this is not happening, it's a beautiful thought.
As Yin (dead leaf) wanes, yang (maple embryos) waxes.

According to the ancient natural calendar, Feb. 1st is the beginning of spring. The vernal equinox is 'mid-spring,' and the last day of spring is on April 30th. So, get outside and celebrate the coming of spring! We're getting more sunlight and more warmth as time passes. Happy Spring!

[EN] The American marten is a solitary animal except during the mating period in summer. The kit will be born only the following spring. Like other representatives of the Mustelid family, the American marten has a very long gestation period called delayed implantation. Once fertilized, the development of the embryo stops at a very early stage and implantation in the uterine wall will only take place a few months later.

Australian Chestnut (Castanospermum australe) seeds and embryo
Food Source: Historically, Indigenous Australians processed the seeds by roasting, cutting, and leaching them in running water for several days to remove toxins. Once processed, they are ground into flour to make a type of damper (bread).
Medicinal Research: The seeds contain a compound called castanospermine, which has been investigated for its potential as an HIV-1 inhibitor and for treating post-prandial hyperglycemia in diabetic patients.
