I was inspired by an art project my son did in kindergarten. I glued cardboard shapes onto another piece of cardboard, covered with aluminum foil, rubbed the foil over the shapes and made patterns on the shapes, and painted over the whole thing with India ink or shoe polishy. I also made a series with leaves beneath the foil, and I sometimes used colored India ink. This was a lot of fun, and I sold some at a crafts fair once.

Embossing has been my favorite technique in the print studio. I explored the interiors of the Reichstag using several process and embossing was my favourite. The result gives a sense of simplicity and 3 dimensional effect, but if paid enough attention to details of it, you will notice its complexity.
